Hi,
And welcome to this meditation.
Today we'll be focusing on waking up the body in the morning.
We will do this by breathing through the right nostril.
Throughout the day you might notice that both of your nostrils switch as to which one is more open and which is more closed.
It is thought that if the right nostril is more open,
It activates the left side of the brain,
Which is thought to be the doing or the executing and productivity side of the brain,
Which is great for starting off our day.
Let's grab a comfortable seat.
It doesn't matter where you're sitting as long as the back is upright,
Spine aligned.
Relax the face,
Relax the jaw,
Allow yourself to be centered and grounded.
Feel the natural state of the body.
Notice any tension or tightness in the body.
Notice what you feel.
And now take your left hand and place your left thumb on the left nostril,
Closing the nostril off,
Having the rest of the fingers pointed up to the sky.
We'll be breathing through the right nostril,
Inhaling in and exhaling,
Feeling the natural state of the breath through the right nostril.
If for some reason,
Any reason,
The right nostril is a little congested,
You may slightly open the mouth so that you can breathe halfway through the nostril and halfway through the mouth.
Feeling the natural breath as we awaken the body and as we awaken the mind.
Continue to breathe,
Having the thumb covering the left nostril,
Inhaling in through the nose,
Inhaling through the nose and possibly the mouth if the nose is congested.
Notice anything that comes up,
Breathing through the right nostril,
Allowing the belly to expand with air on the inhale and contract with air on the exhale,
Not changing the breath,
Simply allowing the natural breath to flow as it is,
Energizing the body,
Energizing the mind.
That covers all of this and there's plenty of time for any hands to open and if you have a question,
Please reach her CarHEAD.
Thank you.
Inhaling and exhaling through the right nostril.
Noticing what comes up here,
If the right nostril seems to be clear,
Then you may try a Ujjayi breath or breath that may sound similar to ocean waves.
It may sound a little bit like this.
Constricting the throat,
Using the tongue so that the breath is a bit audible,
Continuing to breathe.
Noticing what comes up here,
If the right nostril seems to be clear,
Then you may try a Ujjayi breath or breath that may sound similar to ocean waves.
Notice what comes up.
Notice the clarity in the mind.
If any thoughts or sensations seem to come up,
We won't resist them.
We'll simply keep our mind on the breath here in the present.
Noticing what comes up here,
If any thoughts or sensations seem to come up,
We won't resist them.
We'll simply keep our mind on the breath here in the present.
Noticing what comes up here,
If any thoughts or sensations seem to come up,
We won't resist them.
We'll simply keep our mind on the breath here in the present.
Noticing what comes up here,
If any thoughts or sensations seem to come up,
We won't resist them.
We'll simply keep our mind on the breath here in the present.
At this time,
Release the left hand from the nostril and placing both hands in the lap.
Notice how you feel.
Notice the state of the body and the natural state of the breath.
And in your own time,
Whenever you feel ready,
You may slowly open the eyes.
Thank you for practicing this morning energizing meditation with me.
I hope that you feel energized and ready to tackle whatever is ahead of you in your day.
Have a great rest of your day and namaste.
