Life is a balancing act. Grounding helps us to feel strong, clear & present within our minds, bodies & souls. My dear friend, Pierre Bensusan, has permitted me to use his track called ‘Sentimentales Pyromaniaques’ from the album 'Altiplanos'.

Let's begin our day with a little bit of happy talk and meditation in this short,

Yet impactful podcast designed to infuse a little bit of positivity into each moment of every day.

Let's get in the flow.

So these last few talks that I've done,

We discussed the importance of being present,

In order to feel balanced and mentally,

Balanced mentally,

Emotionally,

Spiritually,

All of that.

So here's the thing.

If you're feeling scattered mentally,

Or anyway,

Any way that that would be right scattered or disconnected,

Or maybe feeling a little extra sensitive,

Right?

You may need to ground yourself.

And I realized that I haven't talked about that in a while.

So I wanted to bring up how important it is to stay grounded.

You may feel a little extra sensitive about things that people say and all that kind of stuff,

Or maybe a little fearful.

And you know that feeling of when you're all over the place,

I'm there.

I totally feel that a lot.

So I keep myself grounded.

Or I try to.

Anyway.

So grounding is really yet another way to feel the power of Mother Earth,

Right?

Within us.

To feel that power of Mother Earth within us,

And help us to feel balanced.

When we are grounded,

We feel strong.

We feel clear.

We feel present in the moment.

That's always a big thing,

Right?

Feeling present in the moment.

And guess what?

When you're grounded,

You will sleep better.

And you will most likely have less anxiety and be able to cope with whatever life throws at you,

Right?

A little bit better,

Right?

So that's really what being grounded means,

Spiritually.

There is the grounding of the wires and all that stuff,

Which is interesting because it's kind of the same thing.

Energy is like floating around up there,

Right?

And so when you put in the ground wire,

You connect it to the ground so that it has a place to go.

Isn't that interesting?

It's all so connected.

I love that everything spiritual is connected with everything else.

I don't know.

That's just my.

.

.

I just love that everything makes sense in relation to everything else.

So anyway.

So here's the thing.

How do we get grounded?

So there are many,

Many ways to ground yourself and feel,

I love,

Feel that power of Mother Earth's energy,

Right?

Oh,

So many ways,

Right?

So here's just a few of them.

First of all,

If you take a walk in nature,

I know that sounds so simple,

But it's so true.

If you just go out and take a walk,

As a matter of fact,

When I'm done here,

I'm going to go take a walk around the block,

Right?

Because just getting out into nature and feeling the earth beneath your feet,

Right?

Walking barefoot,

Going out barefoot in your lawn,

And just appreciating the connection with us and the earth.

It's amazing.

If you live near a beach,

Oh,

This is amazing,

Right?

If you live near a beach,

Go to the beach and just lay there.

Feel that energy.

The energy you can,

Because what's great about going to the beach to ground is you hear the ocean or the water,

Whatever that is,

Whether it's a lake or whatever,

You hear that water and then you feel the grounding of Mother Earth.

It's like there's nothing,

For me anyway,

There's nothing better than that,

Right?

Here's like another thing,

And you might laugh when I say this,

But hug a tree.

You know what I'm saying?

Hug a tree.

There's nothing wrong with that at all,

Right?

You can go somewhere and nobody will see you,

Right?

But hugging a tree,

What is that?

When we hug each other,

There's like this feeling of unconditional love or feeling of love,

Maybe not necessarily unconditional,

But you feel that love,

Right?

So why not hug things in nature?

Why not hug a tree?

Isn't that great?

So right,

You can do that.

Now here's the other thing.

We can smudge.

I smudge all the time,

Especially in my spirit room here.

I smudge all the time.

That's burning white sage.

It clears out things,

Clears out the negative and stagnant energy that gets stuck,

Right?

So you can do that.

And then of course,

My age old go-to of meditating.

Meditating is like a fantastic way to ground yourself and get yourself in the present,

Right?

And allow yourself that balance.

There's no better way.

Well,

There are lots of ways.

It's all what's right for you,

Right?

So breathing slow and purposefully is a really great way,

Is a really great way.

And yes,

Walking barefoot in the grass,

It just,

It brings something out in us,

Right?

It's beautiful.

Perfect,

Right?

So that's what we are going to do today.

And what we're going to do,

We're going to meditate on this.

We are going to meditate.

We're going to focus ourselves on,

Focus our attention on the root chakra,

Which is at the base of the spine,

Right?

The Muladhara is the name of that chakra.

We are going to,

I'm going to do the Shruti,

Play the Shruti box,

And we're going to focus our breathing and we're going to sort of chant,

Sort of not,

On the root chakra,

Okay?

And in doing so,

Our breath will be steady and in and out,

Right?

It'll be really easy,

Okay?

Because that's a great way of grounding ourselves because of the steady breath in and out,

Right?

So let's get ourselves comfortable so we can have as long as possible to do this,

Right?

So let's get our eyes closed,

Get comfortable,

Allow your body to just relax into your chair.

Now for this meditation,

It would be really great if you could have your feet flat on the floor.

It'd be great.

If you don't,

It's not the end of the world.

If it just works better for you where you're sitting cross-legged,

That's not even a problem.

Okay,

So let's take a nice,

Deep,

Slow breath in through your nose and out your mouth.

So breathe in and release.

Very controlled.

Let's do that one more time.

Really controlled in through your nose and out.

So the note that goes along with the root chakra is G.

So what we're going to do is we are going to use the symbol,

Which is LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

We're going to breathe in and out while saying the word LAM over and over again.

The note will be G.

Just follow along.

Keep your breath steady.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

LAM,

L-A-M,

LAM.

Let's start to bring the awareness back to our bodies.

Bring attention on our root chakra.

Let's take a deep breath in through our nose and out our mouth.

Whenever you feel comfortable,

You can open your eyes.

I hope that felt great for you.

When we chant,

We are controlling our breath.

That's one of the beauties of chanting.

When we use the symbols attached to the chakras,

We are calling the energy from that chakra.

So LAM,

As we chant that,

We are controlling our breath on the note of G,

Which goes with the root chakra.

So there you go.

It all comes together,

Doesn't it?

So I really appreciate everybody being here today.

Thank you from my heart to yours.

Namaste.
