We are so lucky. We are lucky to be here right here, right now and to embrace our inner spirituality. How do we do that more fully? How can we understand the true JOY that is spirituality? It's not just about praying or reading texts. It's about being present in this world as well.

And good morning.

Namaste everybody.

Welcome to In the Flow with Laurie Albert.

So spirituality,

What is it?

What does it mean to be spiritual?

It's not just about praying or meditating or reading ancient texts,

The Bible and such,

The Bhagavad Gita,

The Yoga Sutras,

All of that.

It's not just about that.

Yes,

It does include that.

Right?

But I think that it also has to do with living your life.

Being spiritual means living your life to the fullest.

Right?

I mean,

We talk about living a spiritual life.

And that's all well and good.

But I think we need to feel it.

We need to feel it on the inside.

Feeling that spirituality from the inside out.

And what are ways to do that?

What are ways to feel that spirituality on the inside and on the outside?

Well,

Obviously,

The first thing you know I'm going to say is meditate.

Meditation over the last 20 years has helped me grow and blossom and become more calm and peaceful.

My husband,

I'm sure he loves that I meditate,

Whether he realizes it or not.

You know,

So meditation is one way,

Obviously.

But there's a couple other things that I think we can do to bring out the spirituality in us.

And number one,

One way is to be in nature.

Allow ourselves to be in nature.

Like go for a walk.

Or if you have limitations with that,

Just take your shoes off and go stand in the grass.

Be one with Mother Earth.

Just stand there and understand,

Stand there and understand that this is Mother Earth and she's here to nourish us.

If you just stand there and recognize that for just a minute,

It can change so much.

It can make you feel and be aware.

Second thing you can do,

The second thing you can do to feel the spirituality in your life,

Dance.

I know that sounds kind of funny,

Right,

To be even saying that.

But you know what?

It's about being present.

It's about being present on this Earth,

Right?

So dancing is amazing.

Let yourself feel free.

There is nothing,

And I know you all have done this.

I know you all have done this.

You put on some music when you're all alone in your house and you just dance.

Dance like no one's watching.

That can be one of the most freeing experiences that you've ever done.

And if you haven't tried it,

You need to do it.

Dance when you're by yourself and just be free.

That's truly,

I swear it's one of my favorite things to do,

Right?

And actually I will do it in front of people too.

I will do that in front of people.

And then the last thing that I want to talk about is just laughing.

Allow yourself to laugh a little bit.

Allow yourself to feel that joy of laughter.

Get out your computer and put on those funny baby or animal videos or video of people falling.

That can lift your spirits,

Right?

Or put on that funny movie,

That comedy.

I remember when I was pregnant,

I was overdue.

My parents were here and my husband were trying to get the baby to just want to come out.

And so somebody said,

Watch a funny movie.

And I was like,

All right,

We're going to watch a funny movie.

And I was like,

Oh,

You know,

Ironically I picked one of those movies that only I felt was funny.

I don't know what made me remember that right now,

But my parents and my husband were sitting there watching this movie with me and I was the only one laughing,

But I was hysterical.

It didn't do anything to help me have the baby,

But you know,

It was fun.

It was funny and it was fun.

And it loosened up the tension,

Right?

That's what it does.

So the bottom line to all these things that I'm talking about right here,

The bottom line to all these things is being present.

It's allowing ourselves to be present in the moment,

In the time,

And just be.

You know,

We talk about being present so much.

You know,

You hear about it in all different ways,

Right?

All the spiritual work,

All of the self-help work that we do talks so much about being present and it's real.

That means something.

But there are so many ways to do it that don't necessarily have to be the woo-woo ways,

You know?

So we are going to meditate on that today.

Yes we are.

Okay,

So let's all get ourselves comfortable.

Sit in your chair or lay down.

Get yourself in that comfortable place.

Allow your eyes to close.

Let's take a nice deep breath in through your nose and release.

Joyful.

How joyful.

Let's take another deep breath in,

Filling up our bodies with beautiful oxygen and release.

Feel the joy.

Feel the joy that being alive creates inside you.

What are you grateful for today,

Friends?

What are you grateful for?

Are you grateful for this meditation practice that you've taken on?

Are you grateful for this life reset that the world has been given?

Some people hate it,

Some people love it,

But the reality is it's a gift.

We've been given this gift of reset.

Being grateful is a beautiful way to start your day.

Today is mantra.

Beautiful way to start your day.

Moksha.

Moksha.

It's one of Devaji's favorite mantras.

It means freedom.

It means liberation.

Freedom in whatever form it means to you.

Moksha.

So as we start to sit in our silence for a few moments,

Let us consider moksha.

Don't forget if you get lost or if you lose the mantra,

Just gently push the thoughts that are coming into the side.

If you lose it,

You can always just concentrate on your breathing.

Breathing in and out.

Because remember there is no wrong.

There is no right.

And let's begin.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Moksha.

Start bringing our awareness back to where we're sitting.

Let's take a nice deep breath in.

Bringing in all that moksha,

That moksha energy and release.

Gorgeous.

Whenever you feel comfortable you can open your eyes.

Awesome.

Beautiful.

So remember,

Go throughout today and just be present maybe,

Right?

Just be present to the little things.

Be present and dance a little bit.

Try that.

If you've never tried it before,

You need to try it.

I love you all.

Thank you so much for joining today.

Namaste everybody.
