Let's begin our day with a little bit of happy talk and meditation in this short yet impactful podcast designed to infuse a little bit of positivity into each moment of every day.
Let's get in the flow.
Are you who you want to be in your life?
I know that's like totally deep question for today,
Right?
A completely deep question.
But here's the thing.
Are you who you want to be in your life?
Or do you find yourself settling sometimes?
I settle a lot.
Well,
Maybe not a lot exactly.
But I know that here's my thing.
I know that my personality can be a lot sometimes.
I'm outspoken,
I'm outgoing,
And I'm loud.
I come from a loud family,
Right?
But here's the thing.
Today I was thinking that we would do a chakra,
I'm sorry,
A throat chakra meditation to allow us to tap into our authentic self.
For the holidays.
I'm bringing this up because throughout the holidays,
Sometimes when we get together with family,
There can be contentious conversations,
Or differences of opinion,
All of that.
And we try,
I think most of us try to be on our best behavior,
You know,
When we're with family.
But sometimes it's hard,
Right?
Because we really want to be,
And I fall into this category so much,
I want to be who I am.
But I find myself in a situation sometimes during these friends,
Family gatherings,
Right?
I mean,
It's not just family,
I think sometimes,
You know,
I feel like that I find myself in a situation sometimes where I'm not feeling fully self expressed,
Or that I want that I'm being like extra quiet.
So I'm not going to start an argument or,
You know,
Whatever,
I have that little thing.
You know,
There's that little thing that I just don't say,
Because I want to share it because I want to be who I am.
But I don't want to share it because of,
You know,
People's opinions.
I mean,
I worry about that a lot,
Especially because I'm a medium,
You know,
Because so my opinions,
And sometimes,
You know,
You get the side look or whatever,
Right?
Yeah,
Well,
It's just reality,
Right?
Obviously,
Especially in these times as well,
There are so many subjects to stay away from during during our holiday gatherings,
But you do want to stay and be true to who you are.
Be your authentic self,
Right?
This is what I do.
Okay,
I just want to share this with you for maybe it will help somebody,
Right?
When faced,
You know,
With that situation,
Or conversation or comment or whatever,
I go back,
This is what I do,
I go back in to myself.
Okay,
And I think this is exactly what I think.
Who am I in this world?
Who do I,
Who am I authentically in this world?
And then I answer myself and I say,
I am someone whose goal it is to be of comfort,
And to spread joy and happiness to the world.
That is who I am.
Right?
So,
Basically,
I'm going to say it again,
Because it's really kind of important that you that if you if you want to try this,
That you that you understand what you're doing,
Right?
Who am I truly in this world,
When I'm being who I really truly am,
In my heart,
In my throat,
My throat chakra,
Right?
Because that's where it all sort of emanates from,
Right?
Who am I?
So who I am,
Is I am a person that whose goal it is to comfort,
To spread happiness,
That's who I am.
Right?
So saying this to yourself,
Really can help you get back to who you really are in those moments of,
You know,
Whenever we're all together,
Everybody's all together,
Right?
So back to who you really are,
That is your authentic self.
So let's just,
Let's kind of recap that.
Because I really want it to,
I really want to bring home the point of,
Sometimes when we're with family,
Even friends,
We turn into this,
I gotta one up people,
Or I've got to be,
I've got to be this version,
I've got to stand up,
You know,
And it's a little bit stressful,
Right?
But when you start to feel your energy rising,
Sit back and say to yourself,
Who am I really,
Really?
Am I really someone who needs to be,
Who needs to top that conversation?
Right?
Very interesting,
Right?
So what we're going to do is we're going to meditate on this,
Okay?
And we are going to,
We're going to close our eyes.
Okay,
So let's go ahead and just start.
Let's close our eyes.
Let's take a nice deep breath in and release.
And let's place our attention on our throat chakra.
It is the blue chakra and it is in our throat.
So just place your attention right there and feel the energy around your throat chakra.
And imagine that blue,
Beautiful blue color.
Let's try to imagine it sparkling today.
That is the energy of our throat chakra.
Feel the energy around there.
It's so strong and loving and compassionate.
This energy is us allowing ourselves to be deep down who we truly are.
We are children of the divine.
We thank you spirit for showing us who we are in this world.
We thank you for teaching us ways to simply be love.
So as we sit in the stillness,
Today we are going to chant hum,
H-A-M.
That is the chant that goes along with the throat chakra.
I'm going to play my Shruti box so it is not a computer noise.
And let's chant together and activate the throat chakra and allowing us to be.
The throat chakra allows us to be who we truly are in this world.
You can chant along with me.
You can hum.
Or you can just do it in your mind.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Hum.
Let's take a nice deep breath in and release.
Namaste.
