What if…today we just decided to smile all day. Let’s put all this nasty, angry, anxious energy aside for just one day and smile! I'm sick of feeling icky, aren't you? Take the smile challenge with me!

Namaste and welcome to the Flow with Flurry Albert.
And yes,
Another day in the books.
But I have to tell you guys,
I am just.
.
.
I'm kinda done.
For lack of a better way to describe it,
I'm kinda done.
I'm done feeling crappy.
I'm done feeling sad and angry and anxious.
I'm done.
I mean,
Aren't you guys tired of this already?
Like feeling this way,
Regardless of whether it's about whatever subject.
The election,
The,
I don't know,
The energy of the world right now.
Just,
You know what,
I'm just,
It's too much and I'm done.
So guess what?
Today.
Today is a day that I'm going to smile.
I'm going to smile and be happy all day.
What do you guys think?
You wanna take on that challenge?
I'm just sick of it.
Aren't you guys sick of it?
I mean,
And so how do we combat that?
How do we combat those really weird,
Horrible,
Not even say horrible,
But like bad feelings of like that make us upset,
Right?
Somebody told me a long,
Long time ago and I wish I could credit them,
But I don't know who.
I don't remember who it was.
If you smile,
Even if you don't feel like smiling,
You will eventually be happy.
Right?
So that's the thing.
If you sort of pretend that you're happy,
You eventually get happy,
Right?
Because if you,
Like I know a lot of people in customer service,
I used to be in a form of customer service and it can be daunting and not so fantastic,
Right?
But if you pretend to be happy,
You will eventually be happy because it's just inherent,
You know,
It just sort of happens sort of organically.
So that's what I want to meditate on today.
That's what I think we should sort of celebrate today.
Smiling.
Let's focus on lifting our emotions and being happy.
You know,
There's all kinds of ways that we can take this downer energy and make it and bring it to a point where you're happy,
Right?
You can take a walk,
You can meditate,
You can listen to music.
Listening for me personally,
Everybody has their thing,
Right?
But for me,
Listening to music,
Certain songs that will make me cry.
It could be like this complete like Dancing Queen by ABBA.
And I think I've said this before.
It's like one of my,
I cry every time I hear that song because it's a freedom song.
It's a happy song.
I know that's really kind of crazy,
Right?
But it's true.
So if you do these things,
Do something that makes you happy and forget the rest of the world for a day.
Forget it.
That's a challenge.
Don't turn on the news.
Don't turn on the news.
That's crazy.
Don't turn on the news and challenge yourself to only have uplifting conversations.
Wow,
There's a thing.
That would be crazy hard.
But you know what?
Let's take it on.
Why not?
What is your challenge that you can take on today?
Today my challenge that I'm taking on for me is to smile.
Because when I smile,
It's like the old saying,
Fake it till you make it kind of thing.
I'm not sad by any stretch of the means.
I'm anxious.
I'm feeling pretty anxious just in general lately.
But you know what?
I'm going to smile.
And you know what else I'm going to do?
And I wish I would have pulled up the lyrics for it.
But the song Smile,
Written by Charlie Chaplin,
By the way.
Smile though your heart is aching.
You know?
Just smile.
That makes me emotional just saying that.
Oh my God,
That's so funny.
That makes me emotional just saying that.
But that's the thing.
Fake it till you make it.
Because then you will start to feel happy and content again and all of that.
Yay.
Okay,
So let's meditate on this,
Right?
Let's meditate on our challenge.
What is your intention today?
What is your intention going to be today regarding this?
It could be anything.
It could be absolutely anything.
But let's create an intention today.
So today I am going to,
Today my intention is to smile.
That's just it.
I mean,
For me personally,
I can't think of anything better.
So what is your intention for the day?
Create something and let's meditate on it.
So let's get ourselves comfortable and here's the thing.
Let's take a hugely,
I want us to do this,
Breathe in,
Right?
I want to take a really deep breath in,
Not yet,
A really deep breath in through your nose and don't just like be,
Don't be like careful with it in a sense.
When I,
When I breathe in,
Let's take a really deep breath in where it goes into like fully your entire head and then it drains down into your body,
Right?
So let's try that.
Okay.
You might have to blow your nose first.
You know how that goes,
Right?
Okay.
So let's take a really long,
Slow,
Deep breath in,
Really strong through your nose.
You know how you can feel that energy and let it drain into the rest of your body and release through your mouth.
Awesome.
That's so awesome.
That just changes everything.
Let's do that one more time.
So take this really strong,
Deep breath in through your nose and release through your mouth.
It's like you're breathing in love.
You're breathing in contentment.
You're breathing in compassion and joy.
Awesome.
So that leads me to the next question before we get meditating.
What are you grateful for today?
What are you really appreciative of in your life?
I've gotten into this habit at actually at David Gee's teaching.
I wake up,
Go pee,
Come back to bed and meditate for half an hour.
Beautiful.
And that's what I do.
I am so grateful for that.
I'm so grateful for those teachings.
I'm grateful to be here with you all.
We are all in this life together.
I'm so grateful for each and every one of you.
Truly.
Then finally,
Let's go back to our intention.
What is your intention that you create for yourself today?
What is it?
It could be anything.
Your mantra,
Or today actually affirmation,
Is today I declare myself happy.
Today I declare myself happy.
Today I declare myself happy.
That's our affirmation.
If you lose track of it or you start thinking of other things as we're meditating,
That's absolutely okay.
Just gently bring yourself back to your breath and the mantra.
I will keep the time.
And let's begin in our silence and stillness today.
I declare myself happy.

And if you want to take it a step further,
Smile throughout this meditation.

And start bringing our awareness back to our breath and the chair where we're sitting.
When you feel comfortable,
You can open your eyes.
And I wish I could hear from every single one of you because I want to know if you smiled through it.
It's like I started to smile and then I would sort of,
Not that I would stop smiling,
But it would just wane a little bit and I'd be like,
Oh,
Smile.
So today,
Let's smile all day.
Smile even though your heart is breaking.
Smile.
