Forget about wanting other people to like you. Be happy with who you are!! It’s a far more important relationship! It took many years for me to 'get' that! We need to say to ourselves every single day "I embrace my true self!"

Namaste everybody.

Welcome to In The Flow with Lori Albert.

So here's my recommendation for the day.

Put yourself first.

Wow.

You know it's so funny because I think to myself,

Boy I come out with these things and it's like if you just heard them on the surface you'd be like,

What is wrong with that girl?

But the reality is put yourself first.

You just don't hear that every day right because it's like taboo to talk about putting yourself first right?

Steve Jobs said,

Your time is limited so don't waste it living someone else's life.

Don't be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people's thinking.

So in other words be yourself.

Be yourself.

It took me till I was like almost 40 to like get that.

You know it took me till I was almost 40 to get that I need to be myself.

Oh my gosh when I was in grade school all I wanted to be accepted.

Well I mean we all do right?

I mean that's like a thing you know whenever you're in school you want to be accepted.

So I tried out to be cheerleader.

I'm not the cheerleading type.

That's just not who I am.

I'm an artsy person right?

Not an athlete whatsoever.

But I really really wanted to fit in and I have these pictures of me and my little thing and you know because I've got the energy or I had the energy right and you know I mean you guys can imagine but it was not for me and boy did it cause problems because as you may know from any time that you've spent listening or watching me you can probably guess that I'm not a wallflower.

You know um yeah it's really hard to do sometimes but putting yourself first and making yourself happy regardless of what other people think is the most important thing we can do.

Our relationship with ourselves is the most important relationship because until you have a relationship with yourself that's powerful and what's what's the word I want?

Powerful and empowering.

You're not gonna be truly happy and I and I mean that.

It took me a long time to get that.

So today what do you think we're meditating on today?

So today we are going to meditate on being happy with ourselves.

Being our best self.

There is nothing more important than that and who cares what other people think?

I mean you know we all say that but the reality is do we ever talk about the next step to that?

Who cares what other people think because it only matters what we think and it can be hard.

It can be hard not to give in to that you know I want to fit in and I want to be loved by everybody but until you fit in with yourself you're not gonna fit in with anybody else you know and you know what's really interesting once I really started getting into my own this is just for me my own spirituality and the things that I was into studying the Bhagavad Gita and learning my mediumship skills gifts you know and learning about my empathic nature.

Until I did that I was not satisfied in life.

I was not.

I wasn't satisfied at all.

Stop living other people's lives.

Oh love that.

Couldn't be anything more important that we need to hear.

So let's get ourselves comfortable.

Get ourselves comfy comfy and let's take a nice long slow deep breath in through your nose.

Perfect.

Very good.

Let's do that again.

It felt so good to do.

Let's do it again.

Breathe in through your nose really slow and really really deep and release.

Let your eyes gently float closed.

Let's start off with as David G calls them the sacred the sacred questions which to me is something I've been doing for so so long.

What are you grateful for?

What are you grateful for?

What is going so so well in your life that it brings a smile to your face?

Is it that you woke up in a good mood today?

Is it that you love the outfit that you're wearing?

Makes you feel good?

Is it that we are in quarantine and we get to create a new life for ourselves?

Some people are very grateful for that.

The next question is who am I when I am at my best?

Who am I when I am at my best?

Are you loving?

Who are you?

Are you trustworthy?

Compassionate?

Loving?

Who are you?

Deep down.

So today our mantra is today I embrace my true self.

So as we meditate we will use this as our mantra.

Today I embrace my true self.

If you lose track of the mantra that's absolutely okay.

Just come back to your breathing.

Focus on that.

I will keep the time and let's begin.

You you you you you you you you you you you you you start bringing our awareness back to our bodies be aware of the chair we're sitting in wiggle your fingers and toes when you feel comfortable you can open your eyes but let's take one last deep breath in through our nose really deep bringing all the love into our bodies and release it to the world releasing that love to the world I so much appreciate you all being with me today and until next time put yourself first right put yourself first today be happy with who you are because you are an amazing human being and very very special so thank you for joining today namaste everybody have a beautiful day you
