Namaste and welcome to the Spirit Rooms daily podcast,
In the Flow with Laurie Albert,
Where we discuss spirituality,
Meditate,
And allow positivity to envelop every aspect of our souls.
Welcome.
You know how there are really,
Well I believe that there are really no accidents.
I mean seriously.
So you may or may not realize this,
But I plan what I'm going to talk about,
Like about kind of a week in advance,
Right,
Or whatever.
And some days I change it,
Just a little bit,
But I meditate on it and I see what spirit wants to have me do,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah.
And usually I just go with it because it's all,
Well I try to live a spirit led life and that's how I do this.
And it's just interesting because I meditate on everything.
Like I try to meditate on the smallest decisions,
Right?
But anyway,
I digress.
So in my life,
In the last like two days,
It's been building and building,
I'm like kind of hitting a little bit of a snag.
Nothing major.
It's not that really dramatic,
Right?
But I'm working on something,
Which for me is actually really big and really extraordinary.
It's a class.
I'm not going to talk about it right now,
But this thing keeps getting bigger and bigger,
Right?
So I've sort of hit this snag creatively and logistically,
To be honest.
You know,
I mean there's stuff happening and which I'm not going to get into,
Right?
But I've hit this sort of a snag,
Right?
So I'm not sure exactly how to proceed,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Right?
So now I'm feeling like this block of this wall,
Right?
So here's where it gets interesting,
You know?
So this week's theme is about Sanskrit mantras and I've been taking this course with Krishna Das who is a very famous,
Like he chants and he teaches chanting and he's just really into all of it,
Right?
So,
And I love that.
The power of chanting,
Oh my gosh,
Right?
And that's why I'm doing this today.
So anyway,
So he always talks about the power of chanting and about how the words,
I mean the words mean something,
But they don't mean as like,
It's the intention.
It's about the intention that you're creating when you chant,
Right?
So that brings me back to today.
How crazy spirit works,
Man.
So the mantra I chose for today,
I chose this last week,
Right?
Is and I will,
You know,
I will do this slowly,
Okay?
The chant is Om Aime Saraswate Namaha.
Okay?
So what this is,
Is it's a chant that implores the goddess Saraswate who is the goddess of art,
Creativity,
Wisdom,
Knowledge,
Abundance,
All of that,
Right?
Right?
I mean,
It's crazy.
So if we ask Saraswate to help us,
She bestows on us the ability to,
The ability to overcome these creative obstacles in our lives,
Right?
And I'm laughing because you know where I'm going with this,
Right?
She assists us with the power of speech.
So if like,
If you're like trying to write out some texts to say to somebody later or texts,
I mean,
I don't mean texts,
Like phone texts,
I mean texts.
If you're writing at all,
Anything,
Let's just put it that way.
You can ask her for assistance.
Isn't that crazy?
There are no,
There are no accidents.
So Saraswate is,
For those of you that aren't familiar with Saraswate,
She's one of the three main goddesses and she's the one that you may see with like the musical instruments.
She's usually portrayed with four arms.
Okay?
So she is,
She's actually mentioned in the Rig Veda,
Which is one of the oldest spiritual texts in existence.
Okay?
And this spiritual text is like from 1500 BCE.
It's like really,
Really,
It's like it.
To me,
It's where everything else is based on,
But that's a whole other discussion,
Right?
So anyway,
Let's move forward to the,
To the chant Om Aim Saraswate Namaha.
It's amazing.
So if you chant this,
You sort of invoke Saraswate as you're beginning new projects,
New creative endeavors,
Right?
Or if you just want to like beef up your creativity,
You can chant this for that,
Right?
So isn't it crazy?
I don't know,
I always laugh at myself because isn't it crazy how spirit works?
It's just extraordinary to me.
Om Aim Saraswate Namaha.
Om Aim Saraswate Namaha.
So basically what this chant is,
It's just a,
It's not just,
But it is imploring Saraswate to bestow the creative and the knowledge that we need to overcome creative obstacles.
I don't know,
We're not going to do it 108 times because it's long and you know,
In the interest of time,
But I promise you,
You will be singing this throughout the day just because it again becomes sing songy.
Spirit.
I'm just overwhelmed because it's just beautiful.
It makes me feel like spirit definitely does have my back,
So you know,
I'm not going to do this 108 times.
Yes,
108 times is kind of typical.
However it's not urgent,
You know,
Because 108 is like the,
It's like,
It's very astrological and it's very spiritual,
All of that kind of stuff,
But it's not extraordinarily necessary.
Okay.
There are different trains of thought on that,
So just you can do it.
Okay.
We ready?
Here we go.
Follow me along.
Follow along with me.
