And hello friends.
Okay,
So in our last episode,
We discussed the process of actually paying attention to our thoughts and what creates them,
Like the processes of why we think what we think at any given time.
Okay.
It's really a hard exercise and I get that,
But it can be so freaking eye opening.
So here's my question.
Did you do it?
Did you pay attention to your thoughts and recognize what triggered you or not?
How did it make you feel?
Yeah,
That's always a good question.
How did it make you feel to catch yourself in these thoughts?
Good or bad,
Actually?
You know,
I mean,
Recognizing what irritates you is one thing,
But also recognizing what is good and what triggers a positive thought,
That's important to do too.
So,
All right.
Now,
If you want to take some more time in figuring out why you think the way you do,
Go ahead and do that.
This again,
This is not a sprint.
This is a marathon.
Okay.
We're in this for the long haul.
Right?
Yay.
You cannot change your thoughts overnight.
Okay.
It takes time and it takes patience.
It truly,
Truly does.
But today,
Because we want to start,
Okay,
I want us to discuss the idea of beginning to shift our thoughts.
Okay.
And this is a little bit of a heavy conversation.
And if it doesn't sit well with you,
Put it aside and come back later.
Totally fine.
All right.
All right.
But here we go.
So,
What exactly is entailed in replacing negative thoughts with positive ones?
That would be the question of the day,
Right?
Well,
As you did the exercises from the last episode,
You probably began to notice what triggers any negativity.
And for that matter,
As I just said,
What triggers your positivity,
Positive thoughts?
It really is an amazing exercise,
Even if you go no further with it than just recognizing your thought patterns.
It's really amazing.
Okay.
Because then you start to think of what triggers you.
I know certain ways of being trigger me.
Okay.
I mean,
I've been,
I've been recognizing my thoughts and thought patterns for a long time,
But when someone lies to me,
Literally like anything large or small,
It's just a massive trigger for me.
Also,
Honestly,
You're going to laugh.
But when I see someone smile,
I'm going to laugh.
I'm going to smile.
That is a trigger for me also in a positive sense.
Think that through,
Right?
You know,
When I see someone smile,
It just absolutely lifts me up.
So there you go.
Now,
Triggers can be anything from someone cutting you off into traffic to someone interrupting you in mid thought to someone in your family,
Moving the remote for the TV.
Do you see what I mean?
It can be anything.
Okay.
So now how do we shift those irritations and those negative thoughts to something positive?
Okay.
Catching them.
This is the first important thing.
Catching them is half the challenge.
So when somebody lies to you and you catch yourself going down that road of,
Well,
They must not trust me to tell me the truth or what are they hiding?
Yeah,
Those are big things,
Right?
They really,
Really are.
Now check this out.
Think this through.
Both of those statements tell us that the lying is actually about the other person and not us.
Ooh,
Right?
That's a big thought,
Right?
So we want to think that through.
We don't have control over anyone else's trust in us or if they're hiding something from us.
So now in taking that a step further,
We realize that the lying is about them.
Okay.
And it's not about us.
Really big thoughts.
I know these are like really big and it might be an aha moment for you.
And aha moment may come later regarding this,
But yeah,
When there's these people,
You know,
Let's just these people,
Like everybody lies,
But when you realize that somebody lies to you,
You think to yourself,
It's about them and not you.
So instead of going to that place of what's wrong with me,
That they're lying to me,
Maybe you can go to a thought of compassion.
Okay.
This takes a little bit of practice.
I get that.
But when you catch yourself making it all about you,
You can stop and allow yourself to step back and come from a place of compassion.
Yes,
I get it.
It can be difficult,
But when you start realizing and start living your life from a place of self love and understanding,
You begin to raise your vibration and that's what we're supposed to be doing.
Right.
Okay.
So now the second example is when someone in your,
You guys are going to love this.
When someone in your family moves or,
Or loses the TV remote again,
We catch ourselves in that place of lack of control of the other person.
And we get irritated because they moved or lost the remote.
So consider again that this was about the other person and not you.
Them moving the remote had nothing to do with you.
It was about them.
Okay.
And when we realize this,
We start to allow ourselves to understand that they weren't doing anything to us at all.
Ooh,
Right.
I know these are,
Uh,
This is all to me.
This is just filled with,
Um,
Aha moments for me anyway.
This is like,
This is my journey basically.
Okay.
When I realized that people weren't doing stuff to me,
It took so much pressure off.
Yeah.
Another aha moment.
Right.
So,
Okay.
It's also all of this,
Right?
Think this through now too.
When someone comes to you off in traffic.
Okay.
This is my favorite sort of example.
Um,
You immediately get irritated when someone cuts you off in traffic,
But when you allow yourself to consider that they didn't do it to us,
We have the opportunity to soften our emotions.
Okay.
For me.
And again,
I know you've heard this example for me like 25 times before,
But for me,
When someone cuts you off in traffic,
I historically,
Because who wouldn't get a little irritated,
You know,
I historically get irritated in it,
But over the years,
This is what I've taught myself to do when I catch myself.
And that's the key,
As we know,
Catching yourself.
I stopped myself in my tracks and I count to five.
Okay.
I count to five and then I make up a story.
I,
I tell myself a story as to why the person cut me off.
Like they had to get to the hospital because their mother is desperately ill.
Now,
If that doesn't soften anybody,
Then you just,
You know,
You don't have any emotions at all.
That thought softens us.
And for me,
It gets me out of that place of they did me wrong.
Okay.
And my vibration stays in that place of love,
Compassion,
All of that.
Okay.
Now,
Remember this is about us teaching ourselves to not automatically go to a place of low vibration,
Like irritation or jealousy or distrust,
Or,
You know,
All of that,
Or hate or fear,
You know,
Cause fear,
Obviously,
As I say all the time is the lowest that you can get.
Okay.
And so,
If you want to manifest an amazing life filled with happiness and fulfillment,
A great job,
An incredible relationship,
Toys that you want,
All right,
You have to shift your thoughts on all of it.
Yeah.
Okay.
And honestly,
If this discussion upsets you,
And let's just say irritates you,
You may want to,
First of all,
I've hit a chord.
If this,
If this discussion upsets you,
Right.
You may want to ask yourself the question,
Is my current way of living,
Of being giving me what I want out of my life?
Yeah,
I know this is a little bit of a,

A There are days it's we're all works in progress.
We can't just say we,
We suck because,
Because we can't shift our thoughts.
Okay.
We have to know that we are works in progress.
Okay.
You know,
I do workshops on manifestation and sometimes,
Um,
I talk about these points in my,
In my mediumship sessions that I do,
Right.
But I always go back to the place.
What do you want out of your life?
Do you want to change and create a life filled with happiness and fulfillment,
Love and joy?
Or are you satisfied with where you are right now?
And honestly,
That question is completely obviously up to you.
And I want to say right here,
Right now.
That it's absolutely fine.
If where you are right now,
Emotionally is satisfactory to you.
Seriously,
Truly,
As I feel like I'm saying so much lately,
There is no right.
There is no wrong.
There just is.
Yep.
I love that saying,
And I don't think I heard that from anybody else.
I'm pretty sure that I thought that up,
But you know,
I don't mean to not give credit,
But I say it all the time,
There is no right.
There is no wrong.
There just is.
Yeah.
So if you find that this is really challenging for you and it's not for you,
I love you.
No harm,
No foul.
Maybe sit with it for a while,
Come back to it later.
But clearly if a cord was struck,
There's a reason for that.
Okay.
Go easy on yourself.
You know,
I mean,
This work it's yeah,
There's challenges to it,
But I will say that when you really decide that you want to make the change in your life and really dig into the idea of manifestation,
Shifting your thoughts is where the hard work is,
But guess what?
It is very,
Truly satisfying work.
So.
All right.
