Living in the Flow,

How to Manifest a Magical Life is an uplifting and motivational resource for those who believe in the power of positive thinking and want to transform their lives.

My name is Laurie Albert and I will be here to offer guidance and inspiration to help you achieve your goals,

Whatever they may be.

This podcast will also offer practical tips and techniques for manifesting,

As well as explore spiritual and philosophical perspectives on the Law of Attraction.

Welcome in.

So if you've listened to the previous four episodes,

You will probably understand that actually manifesting an incredible life for yourself takes work.

Yep.

And I explained some of the very intricate details on how to do that.

And yes,

I know it wasn't the fun parts,

But today's the day we're going to finally get to some of the fun parts of manifesting.

And yes,

I can hear you all saying,

Finally.

Finally.

So here we go.

All right.

Honestly,

Though,

While what I'm going to dive into today might be considered fun to figure out,

It's actually a sort of central concept in the art of manifestation.

So today I want to discuss how to find your personal affirmation.

Now,

What is that?

You might wonder.

I feel like that I can only describe it best if I share my story.

Okay.

So when I first became aware of the Law of Attraction and the movie in the book,

The Secret,

I mean that movie,

Oh,

It was incredible.

And that was like 20 years ago,

Maybe something along those lines.

I sort of developed at that point an obsession with personal and spiritual growth.

I began diving into all the books and information that I could find.

And one day I stumbled upon Louise Hay.

Right now,

If you aren't familiar with Louise Hay,

You need to be.

Okay.

She is like the pioneer,

The badass lady who brought to the forefront this new way of thinking.

Now,

I get it's actually an old way of thinking,

But if you're not familiar with it,

It's going to be new.

Right.

Okay.

I hope that makes sense.

So,

And this is how we speak to ourselves.

Okay.

And it's key on how we live our lives and how we manifest.

If I say to myself,

I am a badass.

Then I attract more people and situations into my life that will confirm that.

That's so true.

So true.

Now,

However,

If I say to myself,

You're going to love this.

If I say to myself,

I suck,

Then I bring into my existence,

Evidence of that.

People and situations that will confirm that I suck as well.

Okay.

It's a true slippery slope.

I mean,

It really,

Really is.

So here's the story.

I began doing what she calls mirror work.

And I would look into the mirror and say,

I love you to myself.

And I would say,

I love you to myself.

And let me tell you,

It sounds simple to do when you repeat it to yourself over and over.

While looking into your eyes,

It becomes extremely transformational.

I mean,

Seriously,

It truly does.

So as I dove into the mirror work and saying positive things to myself in the mirror,

And I would do this daily,

You know,

And I would do it in my meditations as well.

Something started to happen.

My opinion of myself started to shift.

So don't you love how the word shift keeps coming up?

Okay.

So,

I mean,

It's a shift is like,

It feels to me like it's a gentle change in your way of being,

However that is.

Okay.

So anyway,

I started using more words to describe myself and this kind of again,

Shifted from mirror work.

Although I was doing mirror work,

It shifted from doing the mirror work to how I described myself in my meditations,

Like a mantra that I would do for myself.

Right?

So I would say stuff like,

I love myself,

Or I am kind,

Or I am strong,

Or I can do this.

Okay.

All during my meditations for that day,

I would find all these ways of describing myself.

Okay.

So now fast forward,

Sort of over the course of months,

These words began to sound like me.

Okay.

I took them on and could feel the strength of those adjectives.

Right?

So I could feel strong and I would feel kind or compassionate or whatever my sort of adjective was for the day.

Okay.

So now,

However,

One day I stumbled upon the word,

Sort of stumbled upon the word courageous.

Okay.

It kind of just landed in my brain and I have to tell you,

That is when the dam broke for me.

I mean,

And I can feel how I felt like right now,

I can feel how I felt right.

Through tears of joy,

I realized that this was my personal affirmation because,

You know,

I wanted to find it.

You know,

I,

I,

I,

Whenever I would use the phrase,

I am courageous.

I mean,

Before and now.

It sparks something in me that is motivating and powerful to me and helps me move forward in my life in such a way that I actually do sometimes feel like a badass.

Not to compare myself with Louise A because to me,

She's like the ultimate badass.

I love her.

So at any rate,

The phrase for me,

I am courageous.

It,

Whenever I say it to myself,

It sparks,

Like I say,

Something in me that it's just motivating and it is,

It's who I feel deep down inside.

Yeah,

Pretty amazing.

Right?

So that actually is sort of the short version of my story.

Right?

So now I invite you to do the work to find your personal affirmation.

Okay.

And like I say,

It,

It's not like it's,

It's a quick.

Okay.

It took me months to figure out my word.

Okay.

And I,

Here's what's so great about doing this.

I love doing it because it's creative,

It's impactful,

And it will lead you down a path where you can actually feel that shift happening.

Okay.

So this is what I want you to do.

And yes,

Homework.

All right.

I want you to start with,

I love you while you're looking in the mirror.

Okay.

Don't do it just once.

You've got to do this continually.

Okay.

Multiple times in a setting.

Okay.

And then,

Like I say,

Do it daily and see where all the emotions that come up for you.

See where it takes you.

Okay.

It,

You've got to like,

Give yourself a little bit of creative leeway there.

Okay.

See where it takes you.

Okay.

And do meditation.

Okay.

Meditation is so important in all of this because it allows you to become present with who you are.

Okay.

So take some time to sit in meditation and consider who you are and who you truly want to be.

This is what will lead you to your true personal life-changing affirmation.

And again,

I stumbled upon the word courageous.

And it's interesting because,

And you've probably,

You may have heard me say this before,

But it's not the word courage.

Okay.

It's the word courageous.

There's something about it being an action word for me.

Okay.

So,

Try it.

Okay.

See where it takes you.

Don't be afraid.

And just allow it all,

Allow spirit to take you where spirit's going to take you on this journey.

Okay.

Now,

Good luck.

I wish you,

I wish you love and luck and fun.

Okay.

And until next time,

Everybody,

Namaste.
