In the stillness, I find courage and strength to take on my life…the good parts & the bad. Today we discuss the magic of the quiet moment! My dear friend, Pierre Bensusan, has permitted me to use his track called ‘Sentimentales Pyromaniaques’ from the album 'Altiplanos'.

Welcome to In the Flow,

A positivity-provoking podcast designed to lift us up to that higher place to live our best lives.

We will laugh,

Cry,

Meditate,

And discuss any and all things spiritual to learn and remove any stigma surrounding spiritual gifts,

Meditation,

Prayer,

And the afterlife.

So I woke up this morning before my alarm and there was this feeling of such peace.

I mean,

You know,

We sleep with our windows open.

I always have all my windows open,

Right?

And it was like totally silent.

I mean that doesn't happen that often,

Right?

So it was like,

It was totally silent.

And there was this stillness about it that was just so,

Oh,

Encouraging.

I don't know if that's quite the right word.

But I felt like,

You know,

I was tired.

And you know how like sometimes it could go either way,

Right?

You could think when you wake up before the alarm,

You could think,

Oh,

Man,

I just woke up before the alarm,

You know,

Kind of thing.

But then there's the alternate way of thinking,

Which was,

Oh,

Man,

I'm going to lay here and just be in the peace of it,

Right?

So I'm laying there and I am just,

I can feel,

Like physically feel my vibration rising because I was like feeling like the strength and the courage.

There is something to be said for sitting in stillness.

And I don't mean necessarily even in a meditation way,

Right?

I mean,

It's just incredible.

Absolutely incredible.

Nelson Mandela has this quote that just rocks my world as well,

Right?

And it kind of goes with this whole theme,

Right?

And this is his quote,

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear,

But the triumph over it.

The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid,

But he who conquers that fear.

And it's interesting because that's what I felt like I was doing this morning.

You know,

I felt like I was conquering something,

You know,

Something that I didn't want.

You know,

I felt like I had,

There was like strength coming,

You know,

There was like,

I felt like I was like this,

This crazy spiritual courage and strength.

And yeah,

So ever since then,

I was like,

I've been like,

Wow.

You know,

Just really thoughtful and really just understanding the stillness,

You know,

I think in the stillness is where we find the courage and the strength to take on our lives in the stillness.

And you know,

If you don't wake up right before your alarm,

Taking on that stillness in meditation is the way to feel and understand the courage and the joy of it.

I mean,

Once I woke up,

Because if you've listened to me before,

You would know I don't wake up happy,

You know,

I mean,

I seem happy all the time,

Right?

But for those first,

I don't know,

Maybe three minutes in the morning,

I don't wake up that way.

I wake up like,

Oh,

You know,

I can't talk,

I can't think,

You know,

Whatever.

So one of the little exercises that I've taught myself is the second that I wake up or and I open my eyes in order to sort of combat that,

I just go right to gratitude,

Right,

Right,

Right,

Straight to gratitude,

And I'll be like,

I'll be like,

What are you grateful for?

You know,

Okay,

I'm grateful that I can see,

I'm grateful that I can feel the ground with my feet.

I'm great,

You know,

I mean,

I'll go to like that basic place for gratitude.

And it works every time.

You know,

You've got to like,

Find the way to combat that ickiness,

Right?

However,

Today was a great day to wake up.

I mean,

I was like,

This feels so good.

It was so silent.

Oh my gosh.

So that's what we're meditating on today.

Finding the strength and the courage,

However that looks like for you,

Even if you didn't wake up that way,

Right?

Finding the strength and the courage to take on your life.

I love that.

I just absolutely love that.

Okay,

So let's get ourselves comfortable because we're going to meditate on this,

Right?

Just for a few minutes,

Right?

Yay.

Okay.

So whenever you get comfortable,

Close your eyes.

Whenever you feel like it's the correct time.

And let's take a nice,

Really beautiful deep breath in through our nose,

And then we're going to hold it.

So breathe in.

And hold it.

And release.

Another beautiful way to find that courage and that strength,

Right?

Is to breathe in and fill your lungs.

Let's do that one more time.

Breathe in.

And hold it.

And release.

Perfect.

So what is it that you are grateful for today?

What do you feel thankful for in your life?

And you know what?

There's no wrong answer.

That's what I love about gratitude.

It's so personal.

It could be the fact that you actually woke up today and put your feet on the floor.

It could be that you're headed off to Starbucks for that amazing cup of coffee that is a treat.

Whatever that looks like for you.

And today we're going to try something a little bit different.

I want us to create an intention for ourselves today.

So what is an intention that you can create for yourself in your life today?

And again,

Highly personal.

It could simply be that you're going to be more patient today.

It could be that you are going to get the list of things done that you've been putting off.

Or it could be that you are sitting in courage and strength today.

So now that we've done our gratitude and we have our intention for the day,

We are going to meditate to an amazing mantra.

An absolute gorgeous mantra.

So this mantra is Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

And what that means is my true self is inspired and wise.

Isn't that incredible?

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

If you lose the mantra as we're sitting,

That's absolutely okay.

You can always come back,

Concentrate on your breath.

So I will keep the time and let's begin.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Om Aym Nama.

Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.

Prepare to feel the chair where we're sitting and know that our true self is inspired and wise.

Perfect.

You can open your eyes whenever you feel comfortable.

So awesome.

So I hope you feel as inspired as I do to go throughout the rest of today and just know that we are filled,

We can fill ourselves with courage and with light.

Om Aym Nama.

So feel inspired,

Right?

Thank you so much for joining today.

I appreciate each and every one of you so,

So much.

So from my heart to yours,

Namaste.
