Feeling Emotional? Let's Create A 'Pick Me Up' Affirmation!

Yes, it's been a pretty emotional time for MANY of us! Today is going to be about creating our best, most personalized, and effective affirmation and we can take it with us all day, every day! Welcome to the Spirit Rooms podcast,

In the Flow with Lori Albert,

Where we discuss tapping into our spiritual gifts,

Meditation,

And basically all aspects of spirituality.

Welcome in.

Okay,

So yes,

It's been a tough time lately on so many levels.

Am I right?

Spiritually,

Physically,

Mentally,

Emotionally,

It seems like it's kind of been a whirlwind of emotions happening lately.

Regardless of your opinion on,

Let's just say everything,

Anything and everything going on in this world in the US,

There is an emotion around it.

And guess what?

I'm here to say,

Seriously,

We're allowed to feel however we choose to feel.

So I want to say that first.

But the question then becomes,

How do we handle when so many things keep getting thrown at us?

Things from people,

Things from situations,

And then there's ourselves?

Because you know that when we have stuff going on inside of our heads,

That is just as powerful,

Whether it's good or bad,

As the outside influences.

I know,

We are the creation of our mental state.

And how does that sink in with you?

So how can we take all those icky feelings that we are feeling and turn them around to be productive and put us back in that state of high vibration and bliss and love?

It's possible.

Whether you are experiencing dismay,

Fear,

Hate,

Jealousy,

We can bring that emotion up to a state of joy again.

We can.

But I will say,

Like I've said before,

That it's okay to sit in that icky feeling,

That feeling of dismay for a little bit.

We just don't want to stay there too long.

Because that is the key to feel what you're feeling.

Allow yourself to feel what you're feeling,

But don't let yourself stay there for too long.

Okay,

So now let's get to the fun part.

I love doing this.

Okay,

So first of all,

In order to create our affirmation individually that you most need for you,

We have to meet ourselves where we are.

So what are you feeling right now?

Are you feeling joy?

Are you feeling love?

Are you feeling dis-ease,

Grumpiness,

Sadness,

Jealousy,

Fear,

Anxiety?

Are you feeling stress?

Are you feeling apathetic?

Are you feeling satisfaction in your life?

Or worry?

Are you feeling insecure or powerless?

Or are you feeling optimistic and happy?

So which of those emotions jumped out at you when I said it?

And which of those emotions touches you today?

You know,

Honestly,

It could be one.

It could be all of them.

So what I am going to do is give you examples of affirmations.

And what I want you to do is this.

If you can,

Write it down.

Or remember key words.

Okay,

Just the key words or you know,

If it really strikes you,

Write down the whole affirmation.

Okay.

But grab on to what jumps out at you whenever I speak these affirmations.

Okay,

Then in deciding which affirmation or words touch you,

You can create it for yourself.

You can personalize it.

Okay.

Oh,

This is so much fun to do.

And you can do this every day.

That's the best part of this.

You may be feeling powerless today,

But tomorrow,

You may just be feeling just bored.

Right?

So there you go.

It's always going to be something new every day.

All right,

So here goes.

We're going to start with this list of beautiful,

Powerful affirmations.

Okay.

Okay,

So here we go.

Today,

I allow joy into my heart.

I am happy and my heart is open.

I love this one.

I accept myself for who I am and who I am not.

I am allowed to feel good about myself.

That's kind of a mic drop one,

Don't you think?

I am safe.

I am loved and I am whole.

Today,

I inhale trust and exhale doubt.

This one I always think of Louise Hay.

I am well.

I am abundance.

Today,

I am grateful for all the goodness and the lessons in my life.

I am not defined by my fears.

I release my insecurities and invite in wholeness.

Today,

I will find joy in everything and everyone.

That one just strikes me today.

And then there's this one,

Which I love.

Right here,

Right now,

I am okay.

Next,

I am strong and determined.

Gosh.

I am a powerful manifestor.

I love that.

I am safe.

I am overflowing with confidence and vision.

Wow.

I can do this.

I love myself with all of my strengths and challenges.

I welcome in the unknown to my being.

And then the final one that I have here.

I am strong,

Creative and inspirational.

Wow.

That was cool.

Okay,

So that's quite a few affirmations and I know that.

I totally could have kept going because they just keep coming in my head,

You know,

But I think that you can find words and feelings from all that I have said because here's the thing.

What words stuck out to you as I was reciting those examples?

What words stuck out?

From those words,

We get to create our own affirmation,

Whether it's one full one that I just said or whether it's just a word.

I mean,

You could say to yourself abundance.

You know,

Because honestly,

For me today,

I actually felt the most connected to I am abundance because abundance can mean so many things.

It can mean financial abundance,

Emotional abundance or energy abundance.

So that one stuck out for me.

Okay,

So what do you create for you today?

There's so many.

Okay,

So now take the affirmation that you have created for yourself and let's start to meditate on it.

Okay,

Don't worry if there's more than one affirmation that strikes you in your heart.

You can use a second one tomorrow or you can meditate on one right now today and then tomorrow or later on today.

Use a different one.

So let's get comfy and get focused by taking a few breaths in to relax.

We want to relax our minds and our bodies.

Close your eyes and take just those few breaths in and out,

Releasing any stress that you have about creation of your own affirmation.

I want you to place your attention and if you feel the urge your hand on your heart chakra.

Start to feel the beautiful connection within yourself,

Your body and your heart.

And let's start repeating the affirmation we've created over and over as we sit in the stillness for a short while.

Remember,

You start with this affirmation as we sit quietly and then you can take it with you the rest of the day as you keep it in your mind and heart.

Let's begin.
