Divine Listening - An Art Form
by Lauri Albert
During meditation, our brain clears and we begin to get present to who and what we are. That is the beauty of what meditation offers us a chance to connect with the real us. The silence of connecting to Spirit is magical.

Namaste everybody.
Hello.
Welcome to In The Flow.
How is everybody?
Is everybody doing well today?
So I have to share with you guys.
I was meditating yesterday,
Surprise surprise,
And I heard the words,
Divine listening.
Now you guys know and or I've said it before and if you're new to listening to me,
I live a spirit-led life.
Like if I,
It's kind of like I trust without doubt,
99% of the time,
I trust without doubt spirit and what I'm hearing,
My intuition,
All of that,
Right?
And excuse me,
I feel like that I am so,
First of all,
I'm so lucky because I know that it's spirit talking to me.
I'm so lucky that I get to experience spirit leading my life.
Like I will be somewhere and I will hear spirit say,
Talk to that person or you know whatever.
I don't necessarily walk up to strangers but you know.
I mean you guys know I'm a medium,
Right?
So I hear stuff you know that's just how I live my life and it's it's beautiful and I've never been led astray.
I don't necessarily always do what they tell me to do you know but I've never been led astray.
It's always worked itself out to where it should be.
So anyway,
So getting back to yesterday.
So I heard the words divine listening and it felt like a lesson because it was in meditation.
Spirit was whispering in my ear and you know I'd never heard that phrase before and or not to my knowledge.
Like I it sounds some like it's something familiar but I wasn't really familiar with divine listening.
So what did I do?
Of course I googled it because I thought well if I don't know what it is I want to learn what it is and I started and I started seeing all these weird things that didn't have anything to do with spirituality and I thought you know what I'm not supposed to do it this way.
I am supposed to figure it out myself.
I'm supposed to figure out what this means on my own.
So back to meditating right.
Divine listening is not intuition but it seems like it could be so it's in that sort of vein right.
Divine listening and what I've experienced let's just say put it that way it's when we allow okay so in meditation we allow our minds to drift into and into silence and stillness.
We calm our minds okay and this is when spirit can divinely speak to us.
So I hope that makes sense because it's different than intuition or my spirits talking to me telling me what to do blah blah blah.
It's not forced.
It's not forced.
It's it's not like anything is supposed to be said.
It's spirit communicating with us and it's about us listening right.
So in meditation our brains clear.
We clear our mind and we're able to connect with that part of our soul and we can hear what is supposed to be heard.
Now it doesn't happen every single time right.
It doesn't happen all the time.
It's not like it's a you shouldn't like think oh this is like oh if I don't hear any you know divine words or whatever you'll know and that's how yesterday I was like oh this is different because it was a different way of hearing it.
So I wanted to talk about that because divine listening is sort of the goal.
It's the gift of meditation.
It's the magic of meditation.
Divine listening.
Love that.
Now you may google it and you may find out that it's the same exact thing as what I'm saying and I apologize that I didn't give credit to anybody but this is what came into my mind right.
So if I've seen it before I don't remember exactly so just be aware of that because I like to give credit where credit's due.
So yeah so today what we are going to do is we are going to focus on clearing our minds.
Absolutely clearing our minds and that is like I said that is the goal.
It does not happen every single time.
I've been meditating a long time many many many years and it does not happen every single time but it can.
So let's get ourselves comfortable because we are going to actually sit in the silence and stillness today.
Okay so let's get ourselves comfy comfy.
Let's take a nice beautiful deep deep breath in.
Breathe in through your nose and out your mouth.
Right there is mind-clearing isn't it?
Let's do that again.
Breathe in through our nose big deep beautiful breath in and out.
Perfect.
You can allow your eyes to close.
Make yourself comfortable wherever you're seated.
You don't have to be seated any special way.
I like to be just whatever feels the best.
And today I thought we would use the mantra OM as we are meditating because OM is the sound of the universe.
It is made up the sound OM is made up of every sound that ever is and ever was.
OM is not like woo woo like we've been maybe you grew up believing.
It's a beautiful sound that connects us to the universe.
So let's practice that.
You can do it aloud you can do it silently to yourself but let's try one out loud.
Okay.
OM.
OM.
Very good very good.
It sort of instantly calms your brain doesn't it?
So today as we sit in the silence and stillness if you lose the mantra start to concentrate on your breath.
Come back to the mantra OM.
Come back to the mantra OM.
Don't worry about the time.
I've got that.
I will bring you back.
So you have nothing to worry about.
Just sitting in the silence and the stillness and let's begin.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
OM.
Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies and where we are.
In our chair we're laying down to bring our awareness back.
We can release the mantra OM.
Let's take a nice deep breath in through our nose and out.
Very good.
Whenever you feel comfortable you can open your eyes.
So I'm like hoping you guys felt as good as I did.
I could keep going all day.
I could have like I could have kept meditating for a long time so feel free to do that after we close out here.
That's what meditation should be.
Right?
Sitting in the silence and just allowing.
Knowing that there's nowhere to be.
No one that we need to talk to.
Nothing.
This is your time in meditation.
This is your time.
Right?
So as we go throughout our day let's just remember to do so with kindness and love.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
I appreciate you guys so so much.
Until next time,
Namaste everybody.
