Transcript
This meditation is for connecting with your body,
For healing,
For restoring your body to its natural state of health and vitality.
It would be great to use at night as you drift off to sleep,
Or for a restorative afternoon nap,
Or just to begin your day with clarity and focus.
If it's okay with you to fall asleep,
Feel free to do this meditation lying down in a safe and comfortable position.
Otherwise find a seated position where you feel very safe,
Relaxed,
Comfortable,
And alone.
Choose a time when you're not likely to be disturbed.
Begin by establishing a deep,
Comfortable,
Cleansing pattern of breath.
Let's start together.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
Hold that for just a few seconds.
And release.
And again,
A long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
And hold that,
Feeling oxygen and warmth and life spreading from your heart and lungs throughout your body.
And release.
Picture your breath joining the world and connecting you to all that is.
Find a rhythm of breath that feels good and natural to you and maintain this rhythm throughout the meditation.
If you feel yourself drifting away from this rhythm,
Just gently return to it,
Taking a moment to focus completely on your breath.
So one more time together,
Deep breath in.
And hold for just a second.
And release.
And continue to breathe on your own in a rhythm that feels good and natural and healing and nurturing to you.
We're going to spend a few minutes on each part of your body.
Just noticing without judgment how each part feels,
Where you might be feeling tense or frightened or in pain,
And then gently releasing all negativity and flooding that part of your body with love,
Light,
And gratitude,
With healing and restoring and nurturing pure positive energy.
All throughout this meditation,
Be sure to maintain an even,
Constant rhythm of breathing.
Deep breaths in,
Slow,
Deliberate breaths out.
Nothing else exists in this time except your breath,
Your body,
And your divine spirit.
No matter what is currently going on with your body,
There are many,
Many things that are going just right.
Your body is doing the very best it can with what you give it,
Food,
Activity,
Clean air and water,
And most especially your thoughts and your energy.
You are learning to treat your body with love,
Respect,
And gratitude and to provide the pure love that is needed to return to a natural state of vibrant health and vitality.
In maintaining your rhythm of deep breaths in and slow,
Conscious breaths out,
Bring your attention to your feet.
First,
Just notice how are you holding them?
Is there tension?
Is there pain?
Is there what exactly is going on with your feet?
And after noticing,
Again without judgment,
Send your energy and your breath to your feet and relax them.
Say a little prayer of gratitude for all the amazing work that your feet do,
Carrying you to amazing places,
Supporting you in every step that you take throughout your day.
And wiggle your toes and bend them under and up and just spend a moment connecting with your beautiful,
Wonderful,
Amazing feet,
Picturing your breath and your pure positive energy flooding into them,
Relaxing them,
Nurturing them,
Healing them.
Now move on to your ankles.
And notice without judgment,
What do they feel like?
Do they feel tense?
Do they feel relaxed?
Is there pain?
Is there swelling,
Inflammation,
Anything at all,
Good or bad,
To notice because we're not judging,
We're only noticing.
Now move your ankles around a little bit.
See if you can make them even more comfortable and even more relaxed and even more at peace with the sacred time that you are spending with your body in this moment.
Now move your attention to your calves.
Again,
Notice how they're feeling.
Notice if they're tense.
Notice if they're comfortable.
Notice everything that's going on with this part of your body and send your breath.
Send all the pure light and love and healing to that part of your body.
Now move to your knees.
How are your knees feeling?
Is there pain?
Is there stiffness?
Send a little bit of gratitude to your knees for the lifetime of supporting you and taking you throughout activities and being amazing shock absorbers for every step that you take.
Be as relaxed and loving and grateful for your knees as you possibly can be remembering to pay attention to your breath.
Now move on to your thighs.
Your thighs are one of the strongest parts of your body.
Have gratitude and appreciation for the strength and power of your thighs.
Notice how they're feeling.
Send love and pure energy,
Healing and warmth and gratitude to these powerful muscles and large bones.
Be grateful and connected.
Now bring your attention to your hips.
Again lean back a little and lean to the side and just kind of check in with your hips.
This is an area that can sometimes feel stiff and a whole lot of emotional expression goes on in this part of your body.
So notice how your hips are feeling.
Notice what you think about each part of your body as we're going by.
And if you're criticizing,
Change your mind.
Decide to be grateful and loving instead of critical.
Appreciate your body just exactly like it is saying thank you for the amazing things that it does for you each day.
And the hip and pelvic area is the location of your root chakra.
So picture yourself being grounded and connected to the earth and all the magical energy that is available for you to draw upon there.
It's limitless.
Now move your attention to the center of your body.
This is going to include your belly and your back and your waist.
So what is the center part of your body feel like?
What are your opinions and feelings about this part of your body?
Are you feeling critical?
Change your mind and decide that no matter what state your body is in,
It's yours and it's your earth suit that is allowing you to move around this universe.
So treat every part of it with gratitude and with love and with appreciation.
And allow the parts that are not working exactly as you would like them to,
To gently and naturally gracefully return to the state of health that is your birthright.
It is your natural state.
It sends out the healing to the middle parts of your spine and to your belly,
To your digestive system.
Feel it cleansed and alive and bathed in warm positive energy.
Remember to maintain your slow deep breath in and gentle releases the rhythm of your breath that is natural to you.
Nothing exists in this sacred time,
But your breath and your body and your divine self.
Now bring your attention to your hands.
Think of the miracles that are performed by your fingers and your hands every day.
You can use these hands for love to touch the people that you love to pet your dog.
How are your hands feeling?
Open and close your fingers and get in touch with each knuckle of each finger.
How,
How,
How does this feel?
Does feel warm and alive and supple?
Is there pain?
Is there stiffness?
Is there inflammation?
Send love,
Send healing,
Send relaxation,
Send warmth and light to every millimeter of your magical hands.
Each finger,
Each fingernail,
Snuggle.
There are connections in that in your hands that go to every part of your body.
So most especially treat your hands with love and with care.
Now move your attention to your wrists and honor this connection of where your hands join your body.
What does that feel like?
Does it feel supple?
Strong?
Does it feel weak?
Does it feel inflamed?
Whatever is happening,
Connect without judgment and send love and gratitude and warmth and healing light to your wrists.
Now to your forearms and elbows,
This next section of your body.
How many times do you think of your forearms all by themselves?
Very vital part that they play in anything that your arms do.
The connection between your hand and your bicep,
Another very strong part of your body.
Send some love and some light and some appreciation to this under plotted part of your body.
Now your biceps and shoulders.
Many times we carry a lot of tension and a lot of anxiety in our shoulders.
So just take a moment to feel how your shoulders and your upper arms are feeling,
To relax them,
To send a signal that everything's okay.
Life is good,
That life is easy,
That life is here to serve us.
After bathing this part of your body in warmth and light and love and healing gratitude.
And now your neck.
Again,
This is a very unsung part of your body.
It does such important work holding your head up,
Holding your beautiful brain,
Keeping it safe and connecting your head with the rest of your body.
And again,
We can often carry a lot of tension in our necks and we do a lot of things looking down at computers and tablets and phones in our lap.
So do something a little bit different and tilt your chin up,
Turn your face towards the sky.
Feel how it feels to open the front of your neck and let the back of your neck relax.
Send love and gratitude to this part of your body.
Thank you,
Neck,
For always being around to support my head,
Which is where I keep my brain.
Okay,
Now bring your attention to your scalp.
Picture the very top of your head where your crown chakra is connecting you to all that is connecting you to divine spirit,
To divine light.
Picture beautiful white light flooding into this part of your body and suffusing your whole body with this beautiful,
Pure light,
Life-giving light.
Relax your spine.
Relax your scalp.
And bring in your face,
The beautiful,
Beautiful face that is your expression to the world of who you are and what's going on inside.
Relax your forehead.
Relax the muscles around your eyes.
How do your jaws feel?
Do you have a tendency to clench your teeth and hold yourself separate,
Holding tension in your face?
Imagine have gratitude for the beauty and uniqueness that is your face.
Okay,
Maintain your rhythmic breathing and just do a really quick check over of your whole body.
You should be feeling bathed in light.
You should be feeling bathed in love.
You should be feeling gratitude for every part of your body and all of the amazing processes that happen without any input from you at all.
So have gratitude for everything that's going right in your body and faith that your body knows how to restore itself in every moment.
And give your promise to offer love and gratitude and respect for your body each and every moment of each and every day.
Return often to this practice of connecting with your body,
Of bathing your body in joy and light and gratitude,
Of connecting with your breath,
Of maintaining this entity that is you,
This beautiful trinity of body and spirit,
Mind,
All suffused in your warm and healing breath.
Namaste.

Thank you! This was just what I needed to begin my day. I am so critical and judgmental of my body, each & every day, and maybe if I do this meditation every day, I can begin to love & appreciate this amazing body, and all it does for me! Thank you!
