It's Lauren Foster here to teach you today how to be completely in love with your body.
So welcome to this episode of the How to Choose Happiness Show.
We're so grateful that you're here.
We are going to talk about your body.
We introduced this topic last Thursday,
And this is the month when a lot of you,
I'm betting,
Have New Year's resolutions to eat healthier,
To exercise more,
To lose weight,
Some of you even to gain weight,
To get in better shape,
To all of these things about your body.
And this may be the second year,
The tenth year,
The thirtieth year that you've had the same exact resolution.
We're here to help you make this the year that you finally do wrap up this year in a body that you're in love with,
That you feel great about.
We're offering you a free meditation called Connect with Your Body.
It's a healing meditation.
And if you were to spend just the 15 to 17 minutes that it takes to let me guide you through this Connect with Your Body meditation,
Then look and see how you feel about your body at the end of that time.
Look and see how this makes you feel about the choices that you're making in your life.
Are you being a friend to your body,
Or are you being a bully to your body?
One of the big themes in this month is your relationship with your body,
With food,
With exercise.
And what kind of relationship do you want to have with your body?
Now think about this.
What kind of relationship should you have with your body?
You should be best friends with your body,
And your body should be best friends with you.
Now,
How do you build a relationship that is a best friendship?
Do you do this by having one conversation?
Or do you have a lot of conversations over and over where you really get to know one another,
Where you really get to understand one another?
So think about your best friend.
You know in an instant what's going to make her mad,
What's going to make her happy,
What's going to make her day.
And can you say the same thing about your body?
And your body is your servant and your vessel that really wants to serve you.
And make this existence here on planet earth for the 80,
90,
100 years that you're going to be here to be wonderful.
And you're supposed to be happy,
And you're supposed to be healthy,
And you're supposed to feel great in your body right now while you are very much looking forward to the changes that you want to make.
What are some of the things that you can do?
First is meditation.
Meditation is a way of getting yourself still for a minute so that you can take an opportunity to live your day on purpose.
And that's what everything in everything that we teach at Be Happy First is about,
Is choosing your perspective,
Choosing your intentions,
And choosing where you place your attention.

So what are some other ways that you can begin to manage your stress,
Which we're going to talk in depth on Thursday about what stress is and how it affects your body,
And how you can specifically put mechanisms in place that will help you to be the master of stress,
Which doesn't exist outside your body.
But we'll talk more about that on Thursdays.
Every day,
I spend at least an hour on meditation and healing energy exercises like Qigong or yoga or things like that.
And when I when life comes along and throws me out of those rituals,
I feel it.
I know it right away that things are not as they should be.
And you know,
You begin to feel out of sorts.
And it shows up in my life and in my body.
I encourage you to dedicate some time to yourself each morning to do some journaling,
Do some meditating,
Really connect with your body,
Connect with your intentions,
Connect with what it is that you want for your life and start your day like that.
On Thursday,
We're going to talk more about what stress is and how to manage it.
And in the meantime,
Remember that happiness is a choice.
You can always choose to be happy first.
