This is a meditation to welcome sleep.

Get comfortable in your bed.

Flip your pillow.

Hold the covers up high.

Get really,

Really comfortable.

Gently close down the eyes,

Softening the space behind them.

Take a deep breath in and sigh out through the mouth.

Do that again.

Deep breath in and sigh a release.

Let the shoulders melt away from the ears.

Let the jaw soften.

Continue to let your breath move through your body.

With each inhale,

Exhale.

And just inviting sleep.

Noticing your belly rise and fall with each breath.

And starting to notice the tranquil sounds of the ocean waves.

Those tasks and to-do lists will be there tomorrow.

There is no need to review them.

It's your well-deserved time for rest.

Deep breath in and out.

Maybe the sounds of the ocean waves sound a bit like the flow of your breath.

Ever-changing,

Ever-shifting.

Today,

You did your best and it's time for rest.

It's your friend,

It's your body,

Mind,

And spirit's ultimate regenerator.

And release.

The rate slows,

The body starts to surrender to your bed.

The body feels heavy and your bed feels soft and supportive.

Wave after wave.

Your breath,

Ocean,

This is your time to rest.

Your time to recharge so that you can be your best.

It's more important than getting a nice,

Restful sleep.

Surrender to the tired feeling.

After wave,

After breath,

Sleep tight.
