This 15-minute practice uses visualization techniques to bring awareness to an area of your life that you are trying cultivate more acceptance around, allowing sensations, thoughts, and emotions around this area to be present and also allowing any potential wisdom arising from the experience to surface. We'll then cultivate self-acceptance and self-love through a practice of drawing the energy of love into our body and being present with the sensation of love circuating throughout the body.

Welcome to this cultivating self-acceptance and self-love practice with me,

Mindfully Laura.

We'll start by just finding a comfortable seat,

Finding a way to position yourself so that you feel relaxed,

But also alert.

And I invite you if possible to find some kind of connection with the floor,

Perhaps your feet on the floor,

Or just bringing your awareness to where your body is in connection with the chair or the ground.

We'll start by taking three deep breaths in through the nose and out through the nose.

Breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.

And again breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.

Last time breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.

Bringing the awareness back into the body and just taking a moment to acknowledge that this is your body.

This is yours.

Just noticing what comes up for you as you bring your awareness into your body.

Any emotions,

Any thoughts,

Any sensations.

Our job here is just to notice and to do our best to not judge anything that we notice.

Just allowing it to be there.

Allow your mind to drift to an area in your life where perhaps you've been struggling with acceptance.

Maybe an area of your life that you wish you could change somehow.

Try not to overthink what comes up.

Just allowing whatever comes to come.

Perhaps this is a physical aspect of your life.

Something that exists in the body.

Perhaps it's an emotion you struggle to shift.

Perhaps it's a relationship.

Or just a series of facts.

Perhaps it's just something that you've been working on,

Accepting more.

I invite you now to project that area of your life in front of you as if it were an object in its own right.

Just notice what form that object takes.

Again,

Try not to judge anything that comes up here.

Allowing your subconscious to create this image for you.

And just notice what you can observe about this projection of this area of your life.

Perhaps noticing what it looks like.

If there's a sound attached to it.

If it moves,

If it speaks.

And notice your reaction to it as you see it there in front of you.

Notice what sensations you feel in your body as you sit in front of this aspect of your life.

This aspect of your experience.

Noticing any sensations that arise in the body.

Knowing that any sensations you feel are allowed to be there.

And doing our best not to judge any sensations we may be feeling towards this part of ourselves.

Now I invite us to ask this part of ourselves,

This projection,

This object in front of you.

What am I learning from your existence in my life right now?

Just listen for any answer that comes from the object,

From the projection.

Doing our best just to let the message come without clinging on or without pushing away anything that comes up.

And when you have your answer just notice how that feels in the body.

Perhaps scanning from head down to the shoulders,

The torso,

The seat,

The legs,

Down to the feet.

Just noticing any sensations.

Trying to bring this attitude of curiosity and kindness to whatever is real for you and your experience right now.

Now I invite you to move closer to the object so that eventually that projection can become once again a part of you.

Perhaps you pick it up and hug it.

Perhaps you walk through it.

Just allowing your mind to choose any kind of merging that feels complete for you.

And as you merge just remembering that wisdom that it's offered you.

Letting you know more about why it's here.

Now we will practice just accepting what is.

Feel into where your body is connected to the earth.

On an inhale you're going to breathe in the energy of love.

Drawing love up from the earth into your body.

On an inhale breathing in love.

And on an exhale just allowing that love to circulate all the way through the body.

Continue on every inhale breathing in more love into your body.

And on the exhale just seeing if you can feel that love circulating and perhaps using your exhale to imagine moving that energy of love through any hard to reach places in the body.

As you continue to inhale and exhale love throughout the body.

Perhaps seeing if a visual comes to mind here of whether the energy of love has a colour,

A texture,

Any kind of physical attributes.

So as you breathe it in imagining that colour or that texture moving through the body.

Again just seeing if we can do this without judgement and with a curiosity.

Noticing anything that arises as we go through this exercise together.

Breathing in the energy of love and exhaling allowing it to circulate deeper and deeper into your being.

And when you feel filled up with this energy of love now sending some gratitude to the earth for all the energy that it's provided us today.

And then taking a moment to send gratitude to yourself.

For taking this time for prioritising your need for love and acceptance.

And fulfilling yourself up and replenishing.

Now I invite us to bring awareness back to the breath and just noticing if anything feels different to when we started.

With curiosity and kindness just considering any difference in any sensations that are present.

Bringing awareness back to the room.

And when you're ready opening the eyes.

And alienling your breathing or Missouri State University!

You you
