This meditation is called Overcoming OCD.

If you're struggling with OCD,

This guided meditation can help you find some relief and peace of mind.

So start by finding a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lay down.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through the nose and hold it for a second and then slowly exhale through your mouth.

And keep breathing like that for a moment.

As you exhale,

Release any tension in your body.

Imagine a wave of relaxation washing over you,

Starting at the top of your head and flowing down through your body all the way down to your toes.

Now breathe normally without changing your breath in any way and bring your full attention to your breath flowing in and out of your nostrils.

Notice the sensation of the air moving in and out of your body.

And try to control your breath,

Just observe it.

As you focus on your breath,

You may notice thoughts and feelings arising.

This is normal.

Simply acknowledge them without any analysis and let them pass,

Like clouds in the sky.

Now bring your attention to your body and notice any areas of tension or discomfort.

And breathe into those areas and imagine them gently releasing and softening.

And as you continue to focus on your breath and your body,

I want you to repeat the following affirmation silently to yourself.

I am not my thoughts.

Keep repeating that for a moment.

I am not my thoughts.

My thoughts do not define me.

I am in control of my thoughts.

Now visualize yourself surrounded by a bright healing light.

Imagine this light filling you up with peace,

Love and compassion.

Allow yourself to feel the warmth and the comfort of this light.

So now bring your attention to your OCD.

Notice any urges or compulsions that arise.

And instead of trying to resist or fight them,

Imagine yourself observing them from a distance,

Like a tourist looking at a sunset.

Remind yourself that these urges and compulsions are not a reflection of who you are.

They are simply thoughts and feelings that arise in your mind.

As you continue to observe your OCD,

Repeat the following affirmation silently to yourself.

I am not my OCD.

My OCD does not define me.

I am stronger than my OCD.

Now I want you to imagine a beautiful garden filled with flowers,

Trees and birds.

And visualize yourself walking through this garden,

Feeling the soft grass beneath your feet and the warm sun on your skin.

As you slowly walk through the garden,

Imagine a slight breeze blowing across your body,

Gently blowing away any worries,

Fears or negative thoughts that you have about your OCD.

As you continue to walk through the garden,

Feel all your fears,

Worries and negative thoughts leaving you.

Feel a sense of relief and freedom as you simply let them go.

Now finally,

I want you to imagine yourself standing in front of a mirror.

Look into the mirror and see yourself without your OCD.

Visualize yourself as strong,

Confident and a capable person.

Now that you can let go of your OCD and find peace and freedom,

Repeat the following affirmation silently to yourself.

I release my OCD with love and compassion.

I am free from my OCD.

I am at peace.

Now take some deep breaths again,

In through the nose and out through the mouth.

And when you're ready,

Slowly start to open your eyes.

And take a moment to notice how you feel.

And carry this sense of peace and calm with you as you go about your day.

Namaste.

A really soothing voice. As a British man if a certain age in the UK it is a comfort to listen to someone familiar sounding. I will be following.
