Nature's Peace,

A guided imagery meditation for anxiety relief.

Begin by finding a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through the nose and slowly exhale through your mouth.

Keep breathing like that for a moment.

Now breathe normally in and out through the nose.

Don't force the breath here,

Just allow it to find its own natural rhythm and try to keep your whole focus on your breath and let go of any tension you may be holding in your body.

Imagine yourself in a beautiful peaceful place in nature.

Picture yourself in a serene forest with tall trees surrounding you and a gentle breeze blowing through the leaves.

Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin and the soft ground beneath your feet.

Engage all your senses,

Listen to the sounds,

Notice the smells,

Look carefully at the trees and leaves.

Allow yourself to become fully immersed in the forest.

As you continue to breathe deeply,

Envision a small river running through the forest.

Picture the water flowing smoothly over rocks,

Creating a calming sound as it moves along its path.

Imagine yourself sitting beside the river,

Just watching the water flow effortlessly.

With each breath you take,

Imagine that you are releasing any tension or anxiety from your body.

Picture that negative energy leaving your body with each exhale,

Allowing you to feel lighter and more at ease.

Now visualize a small boat floating down the river towards you.

This boat represents your worries and fears.

As it approaches,

Gently place your anxieties into the boat one by one.

Watch as they drift away downstream,

Leaving you feeling free and unburdened.

And just keep doing that for a moment,

Placing all of your worries,

Concerns,

Anxieties into the boat and just letting them drift off down the river.

Now take a moment to focus on your breath again.

Feel the rhythm of your inhales and exhales.

Allow yourself to fully relax into this moment of peace and tranquility.

Remember you can return to this guided imagery meditation whenever you need to reduce anxiety and find a sense of calm.

Now slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes and take this feeling of peace with you as you go about your day.

Thank you Karma Yeshe for this meditation. It helps me but I hope to carry it on and be at peace everyday specially when I am in the work place. What is the point of watching the breath or doing the deep inhale, hold and release? I often lose the meaning of it. Is it to teach us concentration? Is it the biological/physiologic need to breathe and cleanse out ? I get confused. And most guided meditation starts with the breath.
