A short grounding practice for mornings that already feel full or overwhelming. This gentle practice helps you arrive in your body, slow your breath, and find a sense of steadiness before the day begins. You can listen first thing in the morning, or anytime you need a calm, supportive pause.

Hi,

I'm Laia.

This short practice is here for mornings that already feel full before the day has even begun.

If you are feeling overwhelmed,

Distracted or behind,

You're not doing anything wrong.

So let's just take a moment to arrive and settle.

Find a comfortable place to sit down or lie down and I invite you to soften your gaze or close your eyes.

Take a moment to settle in as you notice the support beneath you and bring your attention to where your body is making contact right now.

Perhaps you notice your feet on the floor,

Your body on the chair or the bed.

There's nothing you need to change,

Just notice that you are being held.

Begin to notice the cadence of your breath.

You don't need to deepen it or control it.

Simply allow yourself to feel the inhale and the exhale,

Becoming aware of the rhythm of the ebb and flow.

And if you get distracted because your mind is already busy,

That's okay.

Each time you notice it wandering,

Gently come back to the sensation of breathing,

Of being here and now,

Just as you are.

Inhale deeply,

Exhale completely.

You may place a hand on your chest or your belly as a simple reminder that you are here in your body.

Inhale deeply,

Exhale completely.

Deep,

Slow breath in.

Long and unhurried breath out.

Now gently ask yourself,

What will help me feel a little more steady right now?

There's no need for a big answer.

Something small also counts.

Deep inhalation.

Long,

Slow exhalation.

As we close this meditation,

I invite you to see if you can carry this sense of grounding with you,

Maybe into the next moment,

The next step,

Rest of your morning or your day.

Nothing else is required right now.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes and thank yourself for taking this pause.

Thank you for practicing with me.

Until next time,

Take care.

I need to keep reminding myself when overwhelmed that I can actually stop and just take a moment even a breath to ground. So easy to get caught up and your track is the easy simply way to ground. Thank you. Will be back to this one.
