Go ahead and find yourself in a comfortable position either sitting in a way which allows your spine to be lengthened,
Maybe up on your sit bones with your crown drawing up towards the sky or find yourself lying down on your back and allow your arms to lay out by your sides.
Maybe palms facing up,
Palms facing down if you're looking for a little bit more grounding,
Palms facing up for receiving energy.
Whatever position you find yourself in,
Ensure that you can relax deeply into comfort.
To avoid movement and hyper focus on any discomfort in your body during the meditation,
Make any small adjustments now.
Become as possibly comfortable and supported as you can and then bow to yourself.
You're going to do your best to stay completely still until the meditation is over.
Gently close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose,
Drawing that breath deep into your belly,
Expanding into your chest and then sighing out of your mouth.
Take two more breaths just like this,
Drawing that breath deep into your belly,
Expanding your belly like a balloon,
Letting that breath fill your chest and then sighing out of your mouth,
Releasing all of that tension,
All of those worries,
Fears,
Anxiety.
Picture that you're gathering them up with that deep belly breath.
Picture them all sitting in your stomach,
Turning around,
Jumping and then when you sigh out your mouth,
All of those fears are gone.
You're no longer holding space in your body for fear and anxiety.
Gently close your eyes if you haven't already and start to observe your natural breath.
Without controlling your breath,
Just watch where it goes.
Does it go into your chest naturally or your belly?
How deep are you breathing?
How quickly are you breathing?
Your breath is an amazing key to understanding how you're feeling physically,
Mentally and spiritually.
By tapping into our breath,
We can tap into how we feel,
What's going on around us and how that's affecting how we feel.
Maybe take a second to remind yourself that any time things become really overwhelming in your mind,
That it's a sign you need to spend a moment connecting with your breath.
By connecting with your breath,
It'll bring you back into the present moment,
Back into what you should be feeling,
What you need to be feeling,
What you are feeling versus what your brain thinks you should be processing or perceiving.
Going into the breath allows us to tap into reality,
What's really going on,
Not what we think is going on,
Not what we think is going to happen,
But what's actually happening right now,
Right here,
Right in front of us.
Take a moment to draw your attention down towards the base of your spine.
This is where your root chakra sits.
This is a spinning energy wheel which processes emotion and puts that emotion into our body and by tapping into how it's operating,
We can decide what we need to do next.
You try and visualize a big glowing red ball sitting at the base of your spine.
Now that you recognize that it's there,
What are its features?
How bright is it?
Is it vibrant?
Is it saturated with deep,
Deep red tones or is it a bright,
Light pink color?
How fast is it spinning?
Is it spinning at all?
How big is this orb of energy?
Is it expanding out of your body in crazy directions or is it kind of sucking energy inward in a small ball?
Try to recognize your root chakra's attributes.
Try and allow yourself to really just picture,
Visualize,
Feel what your chakra looks like without your thoughts,
Trying to steal the show and tell you what it is.
What does it feel like?
Root chakra houses safety,
Security,
Home.
It's what keeps us grounded in reality.
It keeps us grounded to the physical world,
To earth and its element is earth.
Now that you've visualized what your root chakra is doing,
Maybe try and visualize how we can slow it down or speed it up.
With your vision in your mind's eye,
How can you manipulate this energy so it's spinning in a slow,
Easy manner?
What thoughts are going to bring you back home?
Not home physically,
But home spiritually and mentally.
What actions are going to bring you back to your center of being,
Of gratitude,
Of peace?
Because that is your center and it can always be found.
Still observing your breath,
How it rises and falls.
Maybe observing if it's slowed down a bit since you started this meditation.
What does your root chakra look like now?
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Expanding into the belly,
Then the chest,
And then sigh out your mouth.
At the bottom of your breath,
Go ahead and seal your lips and again,
Start breathing normally,
Observing how your breath wants to move naturally.
The element of the root chakra is earth.
Imagine that there are roots of a tree growing up through the floor from wherever you sit or lay,
That are wrapping around your root chakra.
They're growing through your body,
Big strong roots,
Really enveloping your lower body,
Your hips,
Your legs.
And picture those roots squeezing super,
Super tight and then releasing all this natural prana,
This natural energy that flows from the earth.
It's so vital,
It's so life-giving.
Picture these roots just giving all of this energy into you with every inhale.
You're inhaling the positive energy from the earth through these roots and every exhale,
You're exhaling any fear and anxiety and trauma through those roots back into the earth.
The earth has the power to transform that energy naturally.
It's what it does.
So surrender that energy to the earth,
To the mechanism that knows what to do with it and in exchange inhale positive energy that's going to help you grow and think in ways that push you forward,
That lift you up,
That allow expansion.
Recognize that there are a difference between those thoughts and the ones that keep you in your box,
The ones that keep you in your cage.
Recognize the difference between those two,
Separate them and imagine every inhale,
You're bringing in all the positive energy,
Stable energy,
Loving energy through the roots of the earth and every exhale,
You're surrendering,
Letting go,
Giving away those thought patterns,
Tendencies,
Habits that no longer serve you and your higher purpose.
Continue breathing like this,
Continue visualizing over and over and over until you can't think of anything else you can let go of.
Keep breathing,
Keep visualizing.
This place of contentment and peace is your center.
Recognize that you are peace and you can act from a place of peace in every moment.
Slowly bring your attention back to your breath.
Again,
Notice what it's doing now.
Is it slower?
Has it deepened?
Without changing anything about it,
Mentally take notes on how you feel right now.
Go ahead and give yourself a mantra to hold on to for the rest of this meditation.
Make it something that's going to ease your root chakra.
Again,
The root chakra deals with safety,
Security,
Anxiety,
Fear.
So some good mantras might be,
I am safe.
I am secure.
I am home.
I am grounded.
I am safe.
I am secure.
I am home.
I am grounded.
I am safe.
I am secure.
I am home.
I am grounded.
Choose one,
Two,
All of them.
Choose any mantra that feels like you need more of it,
If that makes sense.
You feel unsafe?
Tell yourself you are safe.
Declare your safety and security right here,
Right now,
Within yourself.
You are safe.
As you inhale,
Repeat to yourself that mantra.
And as you exhale,
Release any thought,
Idea,
Habit that is not that mantra right now.
Inhale,
I am safe.
Exhale release anything that doesn't serve you,
Inhale,
I am safe.
Exhale release anything that doesn't serve you,
Inhale,
I am safe.
Exhale release anything that doesn't serve you.
Continue like this.
This every inhale reminding yourself you have what you need.
And every exhale reminding yourself that this is all you need to let go.
And exhale a moment to decide that you want to let go and let go.
You are safe.
You are secure.
You are home.
You are grounded.
You are safe.
You are secure.
You are home.
You are grounded.
You are grounded.
Stay here reminding yourself that you are safe and secure.
And that all you need is what you have within.
And when you don't feel safe and when you don't feel secure you can sit right here.
Sit right with your breath and remind yourself that you are safe.
You are secure.
Inside your being that's all you need.
