Meditation for Shifting Gears - In a previous episode, we spoke about shifting gears and turning our eyes to bigger and brighter things. If you find you're in need of a gear shift, this simple, beginner-friendly meditation is for you.  Please note: This track may include some explicit language.

Think meditation is hard?

Do me a favor.

Take a slow,

Deep breath in.

And now breathe out.

Congratulations.

You just meditated.

Hi,

I'm Crystal Joukowsky,

And this is Breathe In,

Breathe Out,

A weekly mindfulness and meditation podcast for anyone ready to own their own shit and find a little peace while doing it.

Welcome back to Breathe In,

Breathe Out.

I'm Crystal Joukowsky.

Last week,

We talked about shifting gears and moving from one state of being to the next state,

Slowing down,

Speeding up,

Whatever needs to happen.

So this week,

We thought we would do a meditation to work with that.

As with all of the meditations,

Please do not be driving.

It's safer for you to be comfy,

Cozy in a great space.

I don't care if you're standing up,

Sitting down,

Laying down.

Remember,

My belief in meditation is just what works for you.

So get comfy cozy.

Make sure you won't be interrupted for just a few minutes.

And then let's start with just a really good deep breath in and out.

And take another one all the way into the belly.

Breathe in deep and then let it out.

Take a few more complete full deep breaths in and out.

As you allow your body to relax and let go.

You keep breathing deep and sink into the surface that's supporting you.

Relaxing deeper.

As you go,

Muscles release.

Another breath and stress just melts off.

Another deep breath while you feel your belly expand.

And then it releases and contracts.

Delicious moment to relax and let go.

Your next deep breath,

Your mind clears.

Imagine a radio.

There's lots of static and lots of voices.

These are all of the things that you have going right now.

Some of them are quieter than others and they fade away until you're able to relax and focus in on the one that's the loudest.

This project,

Idea,

Opportunity,

Challenge,

Responsibility.

What is it that this station is broadcasting so loudly?

What is that weight that's there?

You got it.

See it,

Feel it,

Hear it.

As you take another deep breath in this space and this moment,

Ask what you can do to help turn the volume down.

What do you need?

What does it need?

What action can you take?

What help can you seek?

This is a space for inspiration on how you can change and improve.

How can you shift from the loud to something more relaxed and easy?

Perhaps there's a simple step.

Perhaps there are multiple steps.

You gain inspiration and understanding.

It quiets a little and it goes from sharp and jagged to smooth and easy.

What cares?

Change the station.

You've got this.

In this space of inspiration and insight,

Feel free to ask if there's anything else that you need to know,

Anything else that you need to do for another station,

Another gear.

Accept that knowledge.

Take another deep breath.

Feel gratitude in your heart for the knowledge and information you received,

For the assistance you've been given from the helping guiding spirits that are around you.

And we're going to take another deep breath and begin our journey back.

A nice deep inhale.

You feel the surface supporting you as you exhale.

You inhale again and feel your ribs expand.

You might move your back and your body a little bit as you exhale.

And on your next breath,

Maybe you wiggle your fingers and toes as you become even more present,

Aware and alert in this space at this time.

And on your next deep breath,

You roll your head and open your eyes and you're present,

Awake,

Alert,

Ready to continue your day.

You remember the insight and knowledge that you received.

You have the ability to shift gears.

You have the knowledge.

Now take it and run with it.
