Transcript

This meditation invites us to connect with our bodies and breath as we prepare for a successful workout today.

To begin,

Please find a quiet place to sit that is free from distractions.

Sit up tall with a straight spine,

Fully alert yet completely at ease.

Settle in,

Get comfortable,

And gently close your eyes.

Now,

Release all unnecessary tension from your body.

Feel the muscles in your face relax.

Let your eyes rest in their sockets.

Soften your cheeks,

Jaw,

Throat,

And shoulders.

Relax your right arm,

Then your left arm.

Release any tension in your chest,

Belly,

Lower back,

And pelvis.

Relax your right leg,

Then your left leg.

As you scan your body,

Arrive more fully within its walls.

Let go of any thoughts,

Worries,

And expectations,

And be here now,

Fully embodied.

Feel your body breathing.

Notice the gentle movements of the breath as it comes in and as it goes out.

There's no need to change anything.

Simply be with each breath as it flows.

Let the gentle rhythm of your breath continue to relax your mind and body.

Spend the next few moments fully present in your body and with the breath moving through the body.

As an athlete,

Your body is your faithful partner,

And the breath is your guide.

Allow yourself to find a deep connection to yourself here,

Quiet and still,

Feeling confident and prepared for the challenge ahead.

Stay longer if you're able,

And if you're ready,

Begin to slowly open your eyes and stretch in any way that feels good,

Maintaining this mindful connection to yourself as you begin your workout.

Move with purpose and with high quality,

And notice the difference this makes.

Feel free to revisit this meditation anytime you want to sync your mind-body connection.
