Hello,

Friend.

Thank you for joining me today.

This is a simple guided meditation to help us begin to release things that no longer serve us.

So often we hold on to the things that do not serve us with tight fingers and a closed fist.

We feel as if we need these things in order to anchor us,

To remind us of all the ways in which life can be scary and unfair and full of expectation.

We become unaware of the lightness of releasing all of the things that do not serve us.

Even the lightest of beings can still have roots,

Can still be grounded.

We wrap past expectations and evaluations of ourselves around us like blankets during a cold night.

They feel familiar and comfortable,

So we do not see that they are choking us and keeping us from connecting with others,

But also,

Most importantly,

From connecting with ourselves.

Like a wall,

We fill all of the thoughts and feelings that no longer serve us like mortar,

Strengthening all of the bonds until we think the wall impenetrable.

And how do we begin to break this down?

How do we begin to loosen the bonds of all the things that do not serve us?

Acceptance.

Acceptance of the things we must release,

Understanding that these thought patterns no longer serve us,

Strong breath,

Deep roots,

And a willingness to let go.

Get comfortable and gently close your eyes.

Let's first ground ourselves.

Make sure that your feet are on the ground,

As close to the earth as you can get them.

Sit tall and imagine that roots begin to grow gently out of your feet.

They can look and feel however you would like them to look and feel.

They are your roots and they are here to ground you in the way that you need.

They begin to slowly unfurl and find their way to the earth,

Reaching down into the soil,

Past the grass and the topsoil,

And further down into the gravel and rocks,

All the way to the center of the earth.

But your roots don't stop here.

They travel through the center of the earth and back up to the other side,

Spreading out over the earth with purpose,

Coming back to you and wrapping themselves gently around your ankles.

Your roots will keep you centered,

Balanced,

And grounded until the end of the meditation.

Now that you are grounded,

Let your mind gently focus on one thing that no longer serves you.

It may be a thought pattern,

A feeling that you are unworthy or not enough.

It may be a past experience that you hold onto and bring back into your mind when you feel undeserving.

It may be a part of your physical self that you've spent time actively not loving,

Not accepting,

Not feeling gratitude for.

It could be a relationship that no longer serves you or an emotion that you've held onto too tightly.

These beliefs,

These thought patterns,

These moments,

And parts of ourselves that we do not love gain power and momentum in the dark.

It is time that we bring these feelings out into the light.

It can be difficult to find the things that we want to release.

Take deep,

Loving breaths and allow yourself to look for what you would like to release.

Look at them,

How they twist and turn away from us now that we have named them,

Now that we have seen them and have accepted that they exist.

Be gentle with yourself.

Just pick one thing.

Accept that it no longer serves you and realize that that changes today.

Focus on how this feels in your body.

Sometimes when we break ties with the things that no longer serve us,

There's pushback and it feels uncomfortable.

That's okay.

Just pick one thing.

Accept that it no longer serves you and realize that that changes today.

Imagine that there is a beautiful white light that begins at the very top of your head.

It gently moves down over you,

Encompassing you,

Enrobing you and the thing that no longer serves you.

Spend some time in this feeling the white light covering you.

Focus now on your breath.

With every breath in you are breathing in white light.

It courses through your body,

Mending the things that have need of it,

The things that were unholy or beginning to crack.

With every exhale,

A bit of what no longer serves you leaves.

Breathe in white light,

Breathe out what no longer serves you.

Pay attention and feel as it leaves your body with each breath.

In and out.

In and out.

In and out.

The time that it takes to release will be up to you.

Take whatever time you need.

I'll give you some time now.

Whenever you feel a shift,

It may be small,

It may be large.

It may feel like a small breath or an earthquake.

But when you feel the shift,

It is the beginning of release.

Feel this moment.

Breathe into this moment.

Become familiar with how it feels.

Learn to recognize it in the future.

The white light can stay.

You created within yourself a space by releasing that which had been occupying this space previously.

Invite the white light to fill in those gaps,

To become the mortar in your fortification today.

The white light will stay with you today and slowly,

Gently dissipate over time as you no longer need it.

Your roots gently unwind themselves from your ankles.

Spread back out across the earth tenderly and slowly and then back through the earth itself,

Past the core,

Up through the other side.

And then lastly,

Up into your feet.

Your roots and white light will be there and ready for you whenever you are ready to release that which does not serve you.

It is a process to be undertaken with self-compassion,

With a gentle heart and a humble soul.

Thank you so much for joining me today and beginning to release all that does not serve you.
