Taking a mid-day break for meditation can offer numerous benefits for both mental and physical well-being.
When you are ready,
We will begin.
Begin by finding a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed for a few minutes.
Sit comfortably in a chair or on the floor,
Ensuring your spine is straight but not rigid,
Relaxing your shoulders.
Close your eyes gently and take a few deep breaths,
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
With each exhale,
Allow your body to relax further,
Starting from your head down to your toes.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Notice the sensation of the air entering and leaving your nostrils.
Feel the rise and fall of your chest and abdomen with each breath.
Allow your breath to become slow,
Deep and rhythmic.
As you continue to focus on your breath,
You may notice thoughts popping into your mind.
Instead of engaging with these thoughts,
Simply acknowledge them,
Don't judge them and gently let them go,
Returning your focus to your breath.
Take a moment to cultivate feelings of gratitude.
Reflect on something you are thankful for in your life,
Whether it's a person,
A moment or simply the gift of being alive.
Allow this feeling of gratitude to fill your heart and mind.
Take another deep breath and set an intention for the rest of the day.
It could be a word or a phrase that represents how you want to show up in the world,
Such as peace,
Compassion or joy.
Hold this intention in your mind for a moment.
When you feel ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes and when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes and take a moment to notice how you feel.
As you go about the rest of your day,
Try to carry the sense of peace and calm that you cultivated during this meditation with you.
Remember that you can always return to this practice whenever you need to find your centre again.
Take this time for yourself whenever you can,
Even if it's just for a few minutes each day.
It can make a world of difference in your overall wellbeing and mental clarity.
