A self-compassion meditation offers a range of benefits for mental,
Emotional and even physical wellbeing.
Start by finding a comfortable seated position or lying down,
Whichever feels best for you.
Close your eyes gently and take a few deep breaths,
Allowing your body to relax with each exhale.
Now bring your attention to yourself,
Acknowledging that you are deserving of compassion just like anyone else.
Recognise that being human means facing challenges and experiencing difficulties from time to time.
As you continue to breathe deeply,
Imagine a warm and comforting light surrounding you,
Enveloping you in a cocoon of love and understanding.
Feel this light radiating from within you,
Soothing any areas of tension or discomfort.
Now think of a recent situation where you may have been hard on yourself or felt inadequate.
Rather than judging yourself or replaying the situation in your mind,
Offer yourself words of kindness and understanding.
Repeat the following phrases silently or out loud,
Allow them to resonate within you.
May I forgive myself for any mistakes or shortcomings,
May I be gentle with myself as I heal and grow.
Continue to breathe deeply and repeat these phrases as many times as you feel the need.
Remember that self-compassion is not about perfection or self-improvement,
But rather about embracing yourself with love and acceptance in every moment,
Just as you are.
When you feel ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the present moment,
Taking a few more deep breaths before slowly opening your eyes.
Carry this feeling of self-compassion with you throughout your day,
Allowing it to guide your actions and interactions with yourself and others.
