Life happens, and every one of us goes through situations that bring up anger in different ways. However, even when the situation itself is gone, our bodies still carry that chemical imbalance and muscle tension. In this guided meditation, I invite you to sit together with these uncomfortable feelings, as I guide you to experience them through the sensations in your body. Note: The body brings up different bits of what can be experienced. When an emotion is intense, we may need to sit with different parts of it, at different times. I would love to hear how you experienced this meditation. Feel free to leave me a comment. Follow for more similar meditations. Music by Liborio Conti

Hello and welcome.

This is Klea from Growing Through Love.

I'm so glad that you're here.

During this session,

I will be guiding you to a meditation to experience somatically bits of anger that you have been carrying in your body from different things that may have happened during the previous days or even today.

So let's begin by sitting in a comfortable place,

In a comfortable position.

Let your body rest.

Release your muscles.

And take a deep breath.

With a long exhale,

Exhale all of the stress.

Relax.

Taking deep breaths.

With a long exhale.

Exhaling all of the stress and the tension that you can.

Listening to your body and exhaling the upsets.

Imagining it going out from your body as little as you can or as little as it can go through the exhale.

And then bringing the awareness to the rhythm of the breath without trying to force or change it.

Notice the rhythm of your breath just as it is.

Relax.

Letting it be.

And letting your whole body just be in this moment,

In this place.

Notice your muscles.

If there is any tension,

Give it permission to be released.

Give your body permission to just be.

And notice what is staying.

What is resistant.

What is it that you cannot let go of?

That is still in your muscles,

Holding tight.

Notice the parts of your body that you are still holding tension.

Without trying to change that tension.

Offer it acceptance and awareness.

Feel that tension.

Feel the resistance.

Where in your body do you feel that?

Identify the area where that tension is the most intense.

Where the muscles are not at peace,

Are not resting,

But are holding tension.

Breathe into that area.

Or imagine each breath that you are taking.

Going there and bringing acceptance.

Full permission to just be.

And visualize a light of compassion.

A beautiful light.

Coming from your heart and into that area where there is tension that you are holding.

Visualize this light bringing love and compassion to this part of your body.

Thanking this part of your body for trying to keep you safe by holding this tension.

That is trying to protect you.

By holding on to this intense uncomfortable emotion.

That once was very useful.

Or even now it may tell you about the boundaries that you need to put.

But at the same time,

When the anger is held within us on the long term,

It creates a state of disequilibrium to the body.

It knocks the body out of balance.

And now we are honoring this anger.

We are accepting this anger.

We are receiving its message.

And we are offering love and compassion and acceptance to this feeling.

That is part of us.

That is a part of our body.

That one is ready when we learn the message.

It can be released.

And we thank this emotion for the wisdom it brought us.

For the message it carried.

And whenever you are ready,

You can open up your eyes.

Thank you so much for being part of this practice.

I'd love to know your experience.
