Ooo Hello family and welcome to this episode from Kind at Heart on Insight Timer.

Today we wanted to really ground down in this moment and really talk about how we attach ourselves to the future and the past and how quickly we forget to simply be here.

Recently,

As I've observed myself fantasizing and imagining and planning for the future,

I've asked myself,

Where are you going?

Where are you trying to go when you are imagining the future or worrying about the future?

Where are you going?

Because you can only be here now in this moment,

You can't be somewhere else,

You can't be in the future or the past because neither the future or the past are here in this moment.

So therefore the future and the past are illusory,

They're not real.

Yet we find ourselves worrying and contemplating on the past and the future and we give up this moment,

This real moment here and now by living and imagining.

So where are you going?

Because we can only live in the now.

So attaching ourselves to the future and the past is attaching ourselves to something that isn't real and when we can let go of that and return back to this moment here and now,

And be and embrace this subtle silence that is ever present throughout the busyness,

Throughout the chaos,

Throughout you doing your tasks and errands,

There's this presence that is always here and now.

There's this presence that is always here and so often we don't take time to allow ourselves to be this presence.

When we can return back to presence,

The future and the past and our images of the future and the past and our stories all fall away when we simply allow ourselves to be here in this moment.

When the mind quietens and you've returned to simply being,

Allowing yourself to be quiet.

We realise that there's nowhere to go but here and there's no one to be here.

You are here.

You are not being here,

You are simply being in this moment.

So observe when you start to attach yourself to the future and the past and ask yourself where are you trying to go and why isn't this moment enough?

And when you ask yourself this question don't try to answer it with the mind,

Observe the mind's answers but don't take them as truth.

Simply allow yourself to remain in silence and this silence will reveal the answer.

There's nothing to reach or nothing to be.

Apart from this moment itself,

This moment itself is the only real thing.

Everything else is,

Even in the future or in the past,

To be here now is to be here,

Is to be.

And not trying to be but simply being.

Don't try to avoid being,

Don't try to avoid your own silence.

Allow this silence to reveal the truth of who you are.

Allow this silence to be a mirror of all the things that we are trying to do or trying to be.

Let this mirror expose all of that.

Let this mirror show you that you are none of that.

You are this moment itself.

And when you can deepen your practice into this through meditation and inquiry and observation,

You will start to realize that there is no difference between the external,

The internal,

The you,

The me,

The he,

The she.

It's different expressions of the same source appearing to each other as different,

As separate.

But when you invite this whole presence and this sort of silence of grace,

Of God,

Of the self,

Of the Tao into your heart,

All the separateness melts away.

And love,

Compassion,

Union slowly permeates.

So be here now.

Because where else is there to be?
