Fire.

We all have a fire inside of us.

Sometimes it's burning softly,

Other times it's fierce.

In this yoga nidra session we will work with the natural element of fire.

Fire stands for energy,

Enthusiasm,

Willpower,

Passion.

The fire element is related to the Manipura chakra.

It's the solar plexus area which you can find just above your navel.

This is where the fire inside you burns,

Where food is transformed into energy and where your creative power comes from.

This is an energizing yoga nidra practice to ignite your creativity and create warmth.

So I invite you to find a comfortable,

Cozy spot to lie down.

Maybe on your couch or your bed,

Somewhere where you won't be disturbed.

It might be nice to cover yourself with a blanket or to put on some warm socks.

Place your legs slightly apart.

Maybe your feet automatically turn a bit inwards or outwards in their natural position.

Have your arms next to you,

A little bit away from your body.

Palms facing up and once you feel comfortable you can close your eyes.

There is nothing you need to do but listen to my voice.

And maybe sometimes your mind wanders off,

It probably will,

But don't worry about it.

Just come back to my voice and to your breath.

Just like fire needs oxygen,

We humans need oxygen.

So notice if you can feel the air coming in and out of your nose.

Maybe you can notice a small difference in the air temperature,

How cold air enters your nose and how you breathe out warm air.

Just follow the natural rhythm of your breath.

Feel how the air moves through your body and if it feels right to you,

I invite you to rub your palms together to create some heat.

Just rub them until they're nice and warm and then place your palms over your eyes,

Fingers touching your forehead without any pressure.

The heat you just created warms up your eyes,

Soothes your eyes and your mind.

If you feel the warm decline,

You can simply repeat the motion of rubbing your palms together and placing them over your eyes.

Feel the warmth,

Feel all the tiny muscles in your eyes relax.

Now rub your hands together again and place them on your belly.

Warm up your belly with your hands.

Keep your hands here and feel how your belly rises and falls with your breath.

Inhale,

Your belly expands.

Exhale,

Your belly drops.

Inhale,

Exhale.

If you want,

You can keep your hands resting on your belly or you can place your arms next to you again,

A bit away from your body,

Palms facing up and simply keep breathing.

Let's focus on that Manipura chakra area,

The area around your navel where your internal fire burns.

It burns to transform food into energy,

To replace the old with the new,

To drive your passion and creativity.

Imagine this fire as a deep warm orange light that lights up your entire body.

First,

The light brings warmth to the top of your head and from there it spreads to the back of your head and to your face.

The deep warm orange light illuminates your forehead,

Your eyebrows,

Your eyes,

Your nose,

Your cheeks,

Your ears,

Your mouth,

Your jaws,

Your chin.

The light makes your throat,

Your neck,

Your collarbones glow from the heat,

Warming up your right shoulder.

Feel how it melts your right shoulder into full relaxation,

Spreading to your upper arm,

Elbow,

Lower arm,

Wrist,

Hand and all your fingers.

Your right fingers radiate the deep warm orange light.

Your thumb,

Your index finger,

Your middle finger,

Ring finger and little finger.

Your left shoulder glows and melts into the ground.

Feel the warmth in your upper arm,

Your elbow,

Your lower arm,

Your wrist,

Your hand and all your fingers.

Your left thumb,

Your index finger,

Your middle finger,

Your ring finger and little finger.

Your inner fire warms up your upper back and your chest,

Illuminating,

Opening,

Softening your lower back and belly,

Making you feel rosy and content.

Your hips and pelvis are touched by the deep warm orange light.

All the bones and muscles in your right leg feel warm.

Your upper leg melts into the earth,

Your knee,

Your lower leg.

The warmth of the light embraces your ankle,

Your heel,

The top of your foot,

The ball of your foot and all your toes.

Your left leg welcomes the natural warmth.

Your left thigh,

Your upper leg,

Knee,

Lower leg and it keeps spreading to your ankle,

Your heel,

The top of your foot,

The ball of your foot and your toes.

The deep warm orange light warms your entire body,

Nourishing your body and your mind.

Your inner fire energizes your entire body.

It burns everything that doesn't serve you anymore and it transforms into a safe,

Warm haven of peace.

And in this haven,

You can set an intention.

An intention to ignite your inner fire,

To boost your creativity.

See what you desire.

Don't overthink it.

You don't have to save the world or need fancy words.

You just need what's right for you,

Right now.

I invite you to use positive words and the present tense to give your intention extra power.

Maybe something like,

I am creative,

I am passionate,

I have willpower.

Whatever comes up for you.

Now write your intention down on an imaginary piece of paper.

Take your time to write it down with love and care.

Maybe you read it over a few times to imprint it like a warm happy memory and then you put the paper in your pocket as you enter a beautiful forest.

You feel protected by the wisdom and the strength of the old trees around you and you make your way to this open space.

Tucked away far into the forest,

Someone left a small campfire.

It's almost finished,

So you start collecting some branches and sticks to reignite it.

You put them in the fire and softly blow some air into it.

The fire quickly catches your branches.

The fire builds up,

It crackles.

You watch the flames grow and change color.

Red,

Yellow,

Orange.

And then you take that small piece of paper with your intention out of your pocket.

You read it one more time and then you throw the paper and your words in the fire.

You watch the fire transform your intention into pure energy.

Your intention is now out there.

You can let it go.

You sit by the fire,

Just watching the flames move.

It's wonderfully relaxing just to sit here,

Do nothing.

You let the fire warm you,

Inside and out.

You feel the power,

The fierceness of the fire.

The fire that's also within you,

Energizing you,

Warming you.

It's inner radiance.

You radiate joy,

Excitement and creativity.

You're hopeful,

You're fierce,

You glow.

Now become aware of my voice again.

Notice the space that you are in and make some tiny movements with your hands,

Your feet,

Maybe stretching out fully.

And then roll onto your favorite side.

And whenever you're ready,

Keeping your eyes closed,

Gently push yourself up in a comfortable seated position and create some heat in your hands again,

Like we did in the beginning of this practice.

Rub your palms together and when they're nice and warm,

Place them over your eyes.

Your fingers rest on your forehead,

No pressure.

Feel the warmth of your hands soothing your eyes.

Maybe take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth and let go.

Place your hands in front of your heart and give thanks.

Maybe make yourself a nice hot cup of tea before entering the world again.

And I hope you notice you have some more energy,

Some more fire within you now.

Namaste.
