Reconnect To Self 2/21 : Self Acceptance
by Kim Shelar
We can't grow from a space of regret or anger to resentment. Today we connect back to all levels of ourselves - the ones we are proud of, and the ones we aren't and accept her/him. Day 2 journal prompt: What am I today & have today that I could have only DREAMT about

I'd like you to close your eyes now,
And just begin to let your body drop,
Like loose in your head.
Move it from left to right,
Stretch your neck out,
Loosen up your shoulders,
Move your back,
Twist your body,
Stretch your arms,
Loosen up all that energy that you've been carrying through the day.
Your energy,
The energy of others,
The energy of being alert,
The energy of pursuing or even chasing goals and people,
Just drop it all right now.
Take a slow,
Gentle breath in,
And as you exhale,
I'd like you to make your exhale more intense,
More forceful,
The sigh of relief that another day has gone by,
Another day where you did your best.
And if you think it wasn't,
Then it's still okay,
There's still a lesson in there,
There's still a pause in there,
There's still an opportunity in there.
Let's do that again,
Gentle breath in,
The sigh of relief,
The sigh of letting go.
Gentle breath in.
I'd like you now to just imagine that you had a hat on your head.
Can you feel the weight of that hat?
Is it heavy?
Is it light?
Is it weighing you down?
This hat signifies the thoughts in your mind right now.
Is it a lot?
Are you an overthinker?
Is it less?
Is it just fine?
Is the thoughts coming in and out?
I'd like you to physically take your hands up to your head.
Again pulling off that hat and keeping it at this table,
Resting the thoughts for tonight.
No more to-do list,
No more incomplete conversations,
No more nothing for the day.
This time onwards,
It's just for you to relax,
For you to come back home.
Your physical home,
The home that you find with your loved ones,
Even if they're pets or even if it is the bed.
But most importantly,
Coming back home to your center,
Coming back home to refilling your soul,
Your connection,
The highest version of you.
And now set the intention with your higher self,
Each of you,
That we drop into the energy of acceptance today.
Realize that whatever is happening,
The universe,
God,
Higher self,
Whatever you believe in is leading you.
Even if it is leading you to a dead end to show you the next route,
Or if it is leading you to greener pastures,
We're dropping into the energy of acceptance that you always guided,
You're always protected.
So on that note,
I'm now going to count you back from 10 to 1.
And as I count you backwards,
I'd like you to imagine that your body is just firmly being anchored into wherever you're sitting or laying down right now.
So if it is a chair or a sofa,
Your sit bones are just absorbed into the cushion.
If you're laying on your back,
Your shoulders,
Your spine,
Your feet are just pulled into that cushion,
That mattress,
Holding you firmly,
10,
9,
8,
Deeper and deeper,
7,
6,
5,
Deeper and deeper,
4,
3,
2,
And 1.
Allow your body to be completely surrendered into the energy of this calmness,
Of this relaxation.
I'd like you to imagine now that you were walking on this very long corridor.
It's like as if you were in this big library.
And you kept walking,
You can hear your footsteps,
If you're wearing shoes or your flip flops or your heels,
Making that noise in this very,
Very massive corridor.
And at the extreme end,
You see this floor-to-ceiling mirror.
And all around the mirror was this very antique kind of decor or framing that was so exquisite.
I'd like you to look at that mirror.
As you keep walking towards it,
Noticing versions of yourself.
It's so magical because it shows you,
As you keep walking,
That the further you are away from the mirror,
The more unclear things are.
And the further you are away from the mirror,
There's a little bit of doubt.
There's a little bit or a lot of uncertainty.
And all of that leads to fear.
I'd like you now to begin to start walking faster,
Jogging,
Running,
And going right in front of the mirror.
As you stand in front of this gigantic mirror from floor to the ceiling,
I'd like you to look at yourself properly,
Your hair,
Your forehead,
Your eyebrows,
Your beautiful eyes,
Your eyelashes,
Your nose,
Your ears,
And your mouth.
And as you look at that mirror,
I want you to repeat out loud right now,
I accept you.
I accept you for the parts of the life that we made mistakes.
I accept you for the parts of our life that we knew wasn't right for us and still did it.
I accept you for all the crazy,
For all the madness.
I accept you even when you're not the highest version.
I accept you in every form.
Notice as you say this to yourself,
I'd like you to notice your eyes in the mirror.
Does it light up?
Does it tear up?
Does it connect with you so much deeper?
Take a gentle breath in now.
And as you exhale,
You notice this beautiful figure behind you,
Just kind of the shape of something soft,
Gentle,
Yet so powerful,
A silhouette,
The energy of your higher self.
Notice how that energy begins to wrap you up in this beautiful pink and mint green light.
Pink is the color in energy that depicts unconditional love.
Light green is the color in energy that depicts unconditional forgiveness.
Notice your higher self wrapping you,
Enveloping you,
Encapsulating you in this beautiful pink and green light.
I'll give you a moment to receive that warmth,
That energy.
As you receive the energy,
I'd like your mind to show you all those stories,
Images,
Memories where you thought you couldn't do it,
You couldn't take it,
And yet here you are today.
The relationships,
The guts and the glory to do what you're doing in the best way you know.
The ability and capacity to stretch your mind and your dreams.
And something as simple but yet so brave to show up for self-work like you've done today.
Self-work,
Self-healing,
There's courage that goes into it.
Look at yourself once again in the mirror and say,
I see you,
I value you,
And I truly love all the versions of you.
My inner child,
My wounded inner child,
My adult self,
My wounded adult self,
My ego and self-esteem,
My fragile ego,
All versions of me.
I see you,
I value you,
I love you.
Take a gentle breath in now.
And as you exhale,
You stand wrapped up in that beautiful pink-green light,
And I'd like you to snap your fingers and you notice a glass of water in your hand.
It has such tiny cubes of water,
Of ice in it,
I'd like you to begin to sip that water,
Feeling the ice come to your lips when you drink it.
This is now going to be your reminder.
When things are tough,
When there is doubt,
Pick up a glass of water,
Feel the coolness in that ice on your mouth,
On your lips,
And reactivating the energy of knowing that you will be guided,
That you are protected,
And something right is going to open up for you.
Enjoy those couple of sips of water,
Showing your body that the next time you are in that moment where you feel stuck,
Drinking the water is going to remind your body,
Your energy,
Your emotions to lean back to your highest version,
To lean back to the wisdom hidden within you that is only activated through the connection of your soul.
Take a gentle breath in now,
And as you do so,
Notice how the image within the mirror begins to expand,
Shoulders strapped back,
Postures tall,
Neck straight,
Chin up,
Confidently anchored into the world,
Into the physical world.
That in the spiritual connection and grounding,
Everything that you touch in the physical world,
Manifest for your highest and best.
Take a gentle breath in again,
Breathing in this as your truth.
And as you exhale,
In that same posture,
That version,
That strength,
That knowing,
Bring back your attention to your sofa,
Bed,
Chair,
Wherever you're sitting,
And whenever you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
