Hello,

Insight Timer community.

My name is Kim Marie.

Thank you for joining me for this guided meditation.

Go ahead and settle into your comfortable meditation posture,

Preferably seated with a tall spine,

Crown of head rising to the sky,

Perhaps in a chair with feet on the earth or in a meditation cushion or blanket,

Or even lying down if that's most comfortable for your body.

Lifting down the eyes,

Take a few moments to come into the breath.

And letting all the muscles soften,

Releasing the thoughts of the day,

Releasing any tension or holding in your body or your face.

Beginning to notice how the breath gently and subtly moves the body,

Moving the belly,

Moving the rib cage.

I want you to think about someone who inspires you,

Someone you look up to,

Someone perhaps you'd like to be more like.

And then consider why they inspire you.

What qualities do they possess?

Is it how their life looks?

Is it how they live their life?

Is it the people who surround them?

Is it what they're doing with their life,

Their career?

So consider all of this.

And then see if you can look a little bit deeper and perhaps reflect upon this person's habits,

Their routines,

What they're doing to create such a life for themselves that you find it inspiring.

So often we see a person that we admire and we just admire that picture of them,

What we're seeing presented to us.

And we don't take the time to notice or even think about the work that it took for them to get to that place.

The commitments perhaps,

The dedication,

Perhaps the training they had to go through.

And then I want you to also think about this person who you admire.

Is part of what you admire about them how they make you feel?

There's that quote that says,

People will forget what you said,

They'll forget what you did,

But they will not forget how you made them feel.

And so often how someone makes us feel is that quality that has such a lasting impression on us.

How does this person make you feel?

And if they're inspiring to you,

Do they inspire you to live a better life?

To do something a little differently?

To maybe be kinder or more adventurous or perhaps take a whole different career path than what yours looks like?

It's when we spend time with people who inspire us,

Real people,

I'm not talking about the images that you see on social media,

But real people that inspire us so we can feel their energy and we can be in their company and we can interact.

That's when we're inspired to be better and to do better.

So try to surround yourself with people who inspire you,

Who make you want to do better and be better,

Be happier.

They always say that you should be the dumbest person in the room and that's just a way of saying that if you're the smartest person in the room,

You're not really learning anything.

Be with people who inspire you to be better and then level up.

Use that as motivation to move more towards the life that you want.

And at the same time,

Are there people in your life that may be holding you back from pursuing the life that you want?

Keeping you small.

Not cheering you on.

I encourage you at the end of this meditation to perhaps pull out a journal and write down some things that came up for you during this meditation.

The person or people that inspire you.

How and why they inspire you.

What qualities do they have?

What have they done to get to the place they're at now?

What habits?

What commitments?

What trainings perhaps?

And how do they make you feel?

Journaling can be so powerful.

And then perhaps set an intention to reach out to somebody who inspires you and make plans to get together for coffee or a walk or even just a phone or video chat.

Let's bring our awareness back to the breath and allow that to become full.

Thank you for joining me for this guided meditation.
