It's finally cooling off and it feels wonderful Let's tap into that energy today the cooling the slowing the releasing wherever you are Get comfortable Settle your body You can be sitting down on a chair on the ground Lying on the floor on the bed Sit at your desk.
If you're driving you can keep your eyes open and simply listen If you're in a place where you feel comfortable to close your eyes go ahead and do that now And then run through a little scan of your physical self.
Where can you release tension?
Where can you soften?
Can you let the ground or your seat support you a little bit more rather than bracing yourself against gravity?
Can you relax the muscles of your face your jaw?
Your tongue eyebrows shoulders even wrists and hands and fingers belly and hips thighs knees ankles toes Let everything be a little heavier Let it all go And without changing anything at all begin to notice your breath Notice its rhythm and its length Notice how it feels moving into and then out from your body Without forcing it.
Can you just notice that as you are still your breaths slow and elongate We don't need to find peace and ease in our lives We don't need to create it so much as we need to Notice it and allow it to be Peace and ease already live within us Spend a few moments here in this state Still and soft and gentle If any anxiousness or discomfort arise simply notice those feelings Let them move through you and then past you come back to peace and ease Again and again as many times as you need to If your mind wanders use breath as your anchor keep your attention on your breath in and out in and out Or your belly as it rises and falls and rises and falls What is one small thing you can let go of today?
What is it that you don't need to carry with you anymore?
How can you lighten your burden by even a small amount?
Where can you slow down a little bit in your life?
To what have you applied a sense of urgency where urgency doesn't belong?
What can you move through more thoughtfully?
Or can you just work to adopt a slower pace as your usual as your way of being How might you create some more space in your days to practice this peace and ease recollection?
Let go of the work of observation Let go of your train of thought if you're in one Give yourself a few moments here just to sit and breathe and be Just as you are Bring a little movement into your body.
Maybe a soft rock or sway from side to side Maybe a wiggle or a stretch And somewhere place your hands on your body.
Maybe palms on your thighs.
Maybe a hand over your heart or belly Together let's take a quick breath in and out And then we're going to take a couple of deep breaths Deep full inhale Big gentle exhale And one more just like that deep inhale fill up Big exhale release You can take a few more if that feels good in your body today whenever you are ready open your eyes
