Welcome to this Being With JAW meditation.
Getting comfortable where you are.
Feeling the support of any surfaces that you're resting on.
Feeling how good it feels to be supported in this way.
To be held in some way.
And then starting to breathe slowly and deeply through the nose in a way that feels natural.
Natural.
In through the nose and out through the nose.
Nose breathing is very important when it comes to having the perfect balance in the jaw.
And generally feeling relaxed and not feeling like we're running away from life.
Having to grasp for more air but instead calmly breathing in and out through the nose.
Being supported and held by any surfaces.
Or just the earth in general,
Mother Earth.
Holding and supporting you.
Giving you fresh oxygen with every breath.
Being with instead of resisting,
Instead of pushing away.
Bring attention to your jaw.
And be with what is here right now.
Any sensations,
Any emotions that might come up when you tune into your jaw.
Just be here.
Acknowledge.
Meet what is here with a sense of compassion.
Friendliness.
And openness.
Being with also means being with the part that doesn't want to be with.
The part that wants to push away the tension and the difficult or unpleasant emotions.
Can you also be with this?
Compassion,
Friendliness,
Openness,
Acknowledging it.
When we choose what to express,
What to express.
When we choose what to express,
What to feel,
And what to suppress and what to not feel.
We're always in a constant state of resistance.
And that's really a stress for our whole system.
Also our jaw.
When we allow everything to be here,
And we embrace everything.
When we be with everything,
We are with everything.
That doesn't mean we don't try to improve and restore balance and accept everything.
To always stay this way.
It just so happens that when we allow everything with friendliness,
Compassion,
And openness.
Acknowledging that it's here.
Listening to the intelligence and the lesson of why it's here.
That's when it starts to loosen its grip.
And makes space for new things,
More balance to flow into our life.
It's kind of counterintuitive,
Because we think we know what's best for us.
We know what feels good and what doesn't feel good.
And we would like to choose the things that feel good.
Because we just want to be happy and at peace.
Who can blame us?
But within that,
We sometimes forget that the intelligence of nature is equally within us.
We are just as much part of that.
And there's a reason why these things are here.
Not to punish us,
But to teach us something.
To make us aware.
In response to our environment or what is going on in our life.
For example,
A tense jaw can often be in response to not expressing yourself.
For having to suppress yourself.
So if you tune into that,
Does any situation come to mind?
Any life experiences,
Any recent happenings?
Where you felt like you couldn't express yourself?
And whatever comes up,
Just be with it.
Friendliness,
Compassion,
Openness.
Leading to greater self-awareness.
So reflecting on this,
Sometimes simply making this connection,
Gaining awareness of where you've had to suppress yourself and couldn't express yourself,
Can already make this part feel a lot more heard and start to loosen its tight grip.
Meaning that your jaw can start to relax more.
Not having to be in defensive mode,
But actually being able to relax and just flow with an openness.
Embracing wholeness instead of having to choose only the things that you think feel good.
Finding balance.
Realizing it is a process and patience helps us go a long way here.
Extending this kindness,
Compassion,
To ourself and just being with what is here.
Even if in the past we might have labeled it as good or bad,
Just being with it.
Telling it you see it,
You hear it,
You hear this is how it feels.
And you have enough space for it to express itself.
So going forward,
Just try to be more aware of the things that we touched on in this meditation.
With a gentle curiosity,
Not having to solve anything,
Finally figure it out and finally be able to only be in the good feelings for the rest of your life.
Gentle wisdom and curiosity tapping into that.
So to end the meditation,
Let's take three deep breaths through the nose,
Coming back to the surface that is supporting us.
Thank you for meditating with me.
Have a beautiful day.
