Welcome to this jaw meditation focused on extending self-compassion to ourself which will help us to release resistance and tension in the jaw.

Just getting comfortable where you are,

Feeling the support from any surfaces that you're resting on,

Tuning in to breathing through the nose in and out,

Calming down,

Slowing down,

Relaxing your jaw,

Maybe that means slightly dropping it,

Relaxing your shoulders,

And noticing how your ribs expand and contract as you breathe,

A really calming sensation.

And then,

As if you're breathing into your heart,

Just bring attention into your heart and continue to breathe calmly,

Relaxing into this moment.

What is here for you today as you slow down,

As you listen with self-compassion?

Just explore what is here for you today,

Right now.

Nothing is right or wrong.

You just have the freedom right now just to explore in this calm space.

This is your space.

Now you have an opportunity to expand self-compassion to yourself,

Meeting yourself,

Any sensations,

Emotions,

Feelings,

With the same love and care that you give to those that you love.

Breathing slowly,

Breathing slowly through the nose,

And really tuning into your jaw with that self-compassion,

But not just focusing on your jaw,

Because the jaw does not exist in isolation,

But is connected to your whole being here.

What does it look like when we care for others and we meet them with love?

Often that just involves being there,

Not judging,

And that's the same beautiful space you can tune into right here,

Right now.

A moment of self-compassion can change your day.

A string of such moments can change your entire life and the course of it.

Remembering that we are human,

We're not robots.

It's okay to do things wrong,

Or at least we might think so.

It's okay not to be okay.

It's okay to slip up.

And just really extending that to yourself,

That understanding,

That letting go of perfectionism,

And feeling how that washes over your body and jaw.

Holding yourself and all that is here in compassionate acceptance.

Letting resistance melt away.

But if any resistance is there,

Not pushing it away,

Also being with it and accepting it.

That's equally part of self-compassion.

It includes every part of us.

There is no corner we don't embrace.

Taking us closer and closer to a feeling of wholeness.

Even if it's just small and growing over time.

Sensing that inner harmony that is within you.

And as you're tuned into this space of harmony,

In this space you realize that nothing external can take away or add to the sense of wholeness.

Just exploring if that's true for you.

And whatever is here,

Meeting it with compassion.

And as you explore this,

Breathing slowly through the nose,

Firmly grounded and supported in this moment.

And noticing how your whole body relaxes more and more as you let go of this resistance.

That something is wrong.

That you need to do something.

Right now in this moment,

You're just here exploring.

Starting with every part and that being completely okay.

I'm good now.

And in this place where we've let go of much of the resistance we've been carrying around with us,

Sometimes things can emerge that are beautiful,

That show us a new way of doing things.

In this place where resistance is out of the driver's seat of our life,

When we're calm,

We open up space for beautiful new perspectives and awareness to emerge.

So just seeing if something comes up for you.

And if resistance is here,

Just being with that in a compassionate way as well.

But just sometimes,

There can be empowering words from this space,

New angles,

New perspectives.

Just exploring what comes up here right now,

With no expectation.

And to end this meditation,

One thing that I really love to do is just to tune into gratitude.

Gratitude for this space you created today.

Gratitude for your body,

For your jaw,

For the intelligence within.

And just bringing to mind something you're really,

Really grateful for right now.

And then letting that feeling of gratitude ripple through your whole body.

And tuning into your jaw in particular,

How this gratitude washes away any unnecessary resistance,

More balanced,

More harmonious,

And so blessed to be alive right now.

So bringing attention back into your body,

Starting with your feet.

If you like,

You can wiggle your toes.

Just slowly coming back to awareness of your body resting here in this room,

Or wherever you are.

And when you're ready,

You can slowly open your eyes.

Have a beautiful day.

Thank you for meditating with us,

The Kiefer Freund Team.
