Did you know that 1 in 7 primary aged kids are diagnosed each year with anxiety? Furthermore, our kids are exposed to more information across a week, than children a decade ago, were exposed to across an entire year. Staggering! So, how do we reverse the negative thought cycle in our kids (and ourselves?) This guided practice is designed to support kids to be positive. This practice is a game changer and a brain changer. It helps to build stronger brains, so that we can scan our world for positives, as well as helping kids create meaningful conversation around the dinner table.

First you need to choose the perfect spot for you.

Somewhere busy is okay,

Or somewhere quiet is fine too.

It doesn't matter where.

Let's go.

Close your eyes.

Come on,

Let's give it a try.

And together,

Let's take three deep breaths.

Shall we start?

Breathe in through your nose.

Blow out through your mouth.

Breathe in through your nose.

Blow out through your mouth.

Breathe in through your nose.

Blow out through your mouth.

Can you begin to feel your body slowing down?

Now,

Let's celebrate one thing that has gone really well for us in our day today.

That's a bit hard to remember,

But let's try it.

Let's think about something you enjoyed about today.

When you can remember,

Give yourself a smile.

Breathe in through your nose.

Blow out through your mouth.

Keep focusing on one thing that went well for you today.

Breathe in through your nose.

Blow out through your mouth.

You are amazing.

Do you know that?

You are choosing to be positive.

Breathe in through your nose.

Blow out through your mouth.

You are brave.

Do you know that?

You are choosing to be courageous.

Breathe in through your nose.

Blow out through your mouth.

You are calm.

Do you know that?

You are choosing to pause.

You'll get it to find the courage to try it again and again and again.

Every day,

By choice,

Practice and determination,

You are getting to know yourself more and more.

Calming down your body just by using your own breath.

On the count of three,

We're going to take one more breath.

One,

Two,

Three.

Breathe in through your nose.

Blow out through your mouth.

And now it's time to open your eyes.

Ready?

And continue your moments throughout your day remembering how amazing,

Brave and calm you are.

I am so proud of you.

Well done.
