In Buddhism, it is often pointed out that we need to realize emptiness but what does that mean? Rinpoche guides us in a short analytical meditation to generate insight into emptiness. The word for meditation in Tibetan means to familiarize. Meditation is about familiarizing your mind with things the way they are. There are many ways to meditate. Analytical meditation requires us to ponder a subject then spend a few minutes in silence afterward meditating on the meaning.

First,

You stay in a comfortable position,

Either on the cushion or sofa or chair,

Whatever.

Make sure your body is straight,

Especially spine is very straight and neck very straight.

Shoulders,

Chest open,

Expand,

But not too tight.

Stairs relax,

Relax and comfortable.

Then I'm thinking,

I'm going to meditate.

How to begin?

Make sure you have a big deep breath in,

Like this.

Can you feel something?

Yes,

I feel the sensation of breathing in my body.

You feel something,

Your body.

What do you know who you are,

Where are you?

Are you body or are you a small thing in the body?

Then you don't know.

If you say,

I'm a body,

That's not right because body is mine.

Then say,

I'm something small thing in the body.

No,

Really.

So you can't find.

When a big building falls over on you,

That time we think the body is me.

Or somebody pointing a knife on your body,

We think the body is me.

But it's not really my body.

It's not me.

But somebody criticizes you,

Humanly to you in the public.

You wouldn't think body is me,

But somewhere else,

Something else rather than body.

So then where is the me?

Can't find.

Same time I feel something.

Somebody feeling many things.

This is I feel is me.

So there must be me there because I feel it.

But when I analyze,

I can't find.

I cannot pinpoint.

How come?

Because we always feel.

That means there is me.

But the me is not our idea of me.

Not our idea of us.

But still there is me.

So that means me is indescribable and inconceivable.

But you can feel it.

So that means me is a Buddha nature,

Which means always there.

Or you can call God nature.

So which means indescribable.

Doesn't matter whatever situation you always feel.

So that means proof.

Me yes,

Me is there.

But not our idea.

Not in our conception of idea.

That's not me.

That's illusion.

Same as all sentient beings and all phenomena,

All existence in the world is not true as our idea.

But at the same time,

There is nature.

Something else that you can call whatever you like,

Depends on what name is comfortable for you.

For some people,

God.

For some people,

Buddha.

Some people,

Buddha nature.

For some people,

Universe.

For some people,

Spirit.

Whatever you call.

The rituals cannot be perfect because human language has a limitation.

And human concept has a limitation.

But regardless of limitation,

You can feel it.

That is the truth.

So that is indestructible.

So try to feel it.

Continue meditate.
