This is a meditation to get us centered,
Grounded to the earth,
And really feeling the surround of energy and the natural world,
The circle and cycle of days and seasons.
So I invite you to take three breaths and really feel yourself dropping into your body.
Like your thinking mind,
Your concrete mind,
Sometimes we call it the monkey mind.
Thank it for all that it does for you.
And feel a drop,
Literally like a sinking down or a sliding from your mind down into your heart center.
You can put a hand there if that helps.
And then let the out breath help you drop just a little bit farther down into what I call our wisdom center between our belly button and our rib cage.
Down there in the gut,
In the belly.
Feel yourself centering in the heart and wisdom areas of your being.
And then on an out breath,
Feel yourself dropping down to the base of your spine and or your feet.
Feel your pelvis in a chair if you're sitting,
Your feet on the ground.
Feel the gravity of your body.
And from there,
Just release a grounding cord down into the earth,
The great mother.
Now you may feel that grounding cord or visualize it as a rope or a shaft of light or roots.
Let it drop down and anchor you.
It's energetic.
Not just grounding you but connecting you to earth energy.
Draw up from the earth energy,
From the grounding cord energy from the earth to nourish you.
And you just may feel it rising up as temperature,
Texture,
Vibration.
Invite earth energy up through your feet or the base of your spine.
You may see it as color or light.
Let it move from the bottom up.
Earth energy filling your body and combining with your inner light right there in the heart in the wisdom center and just let them all begin now to shine brightly out.
Feel yourself shining brightly.
Three hundred and sixty degrees around you,
Three feet out.
Some call this your energy body,
The place where your inner light combines with earth energy and shines brightly out.
You might feel it as a bubble or a sphere.
Draw your attention to the top of your bubble and invite sky energy to flow down into it,
Into your body and into your energy body or sphere.
You may feel this as sunshine or starlight or moonbeams.
You may feel it as spirit,
Source,
Universal life force energy,
God.
Use your own spiritual orienting system to let this flow down through your head,
Your whole body,
Into your heart and wisdom center and then out,
Out into your energy sphere.
So here you are grounded to the earth,
Full of earth and sky,
Spirit and your own radiance shining brightly out and feel yourself right in the center of that sphere.
We know we are part of something much bigger so our own energy bodies are surrounded by the whole web of life and the cosmos.
And to begin to tap into that,
We'll honor the sacred dimension of this ordinary reality,
This dimension where we live day in and day out,
That is in the natural world and the rhythm of days and seasons.
And we can do that by beginning to orient ourselves just like a compass does to the north.
So you can either turn to the north right now or just sense in to where is north.
To north represents the deep realm of midnight,
The time of day when it's dark,
Sleep and dreams and visions.
It represents the time of winter when we incubate and reflect.
So feel the power of this time of year,
This time of day and just imagine your bubble,
Your energy sphere expanding out a little farther into the north,
Connecting with the rhythm of the natural world and especially now the element of earth.
Feeling once again the way it holds us,
Supports us,
Nourishes us,
Honoring the earth.
We also honor our siblings in the animal world,
Remembering that we are not separate.
And in the north we honor animals with paws,
Bear,
Dogs,
Cats,
Wolf,
Horse.
Feel yourself connecting with that animal world.
And again,
Feel your energy body surrounding yourself and now connecting to the natural world.
Either physically or in your spiritual awareness,
Turn to the right and face the east.
Here we feel the inspiration of beginnings,
The rising sun each morning,
Springtime that refreshes the earth in our hearts.
We feel the power of the element air.
Notice the air in your room and where you are or if you're outside,
Notice the breeze.
Air moves in and around us,
Invisible and yet powerful and life sustaining.
It's through the air that we are connected to the web of life as we exchange molecules through our breath.
So sense into that eastern edge of your energy body,
Your bubble and feel it completely surrounded and expanding as it connects into this time of day,
Year and the element of air.
And then add in our siblings who have wings.
Hawk,
Eagle,
Chickadee,
Robin,
Jay,
Birds of all kinds.
Feel your connection.
Turn now to your right,
The south.
We feel the power of midday.
The sun climbs higher in the sky until its maximum light at noon.
Human activity is at its fullest.
Just like the fullness of summer.
When we are called out outside to play and work in the vast outdoors.
We feel the power of the element of fire.
It's our chemical way of transforming us in the way it warms and fuels us.
And we honor our animal siblings with hooves,
Deer,
Elk,
Moose,
Horse.
Feel your own energy bubble and sphere connecting with the natural world,
Expanding in the south,
Connecting you to this rhythm and the natural world.
Turn now to your right once again to the west.
The time of day when the sun is setting,
Evening.
The direction of completion and fulfillment.
In the cycle of the year,
The time is fall.
Bringing forth a full harvest,
Another feeling of completion.
We honor the element water.
Its power to wash us,
Flow through us,
Sustain our lives.
And all of our siblings with fins,
Fish of all kinds.
So again,
Feel yourself connecting on this edge of your energy body,
Connecting into the natural rhythms of this planet,
The natural world.
And then face the center of your circle again and feel that energy sphere around you.
Filled with your radiant light,
Earth,
Sky and spirit,
Connected into the larger web of life.
You are in the center of all of these dimensions,
Aided and guided by all of it.
Feel yourself centered,
Shining brightly with light,
Connected.
From here you can meditate,
Journal,
Do whatever is next.
And then as you leave your space,
Close the circle,
Beginning in the north,
Turning to your left,
To the west,
Then to the south and the east and back to the center as you thank all of the dimensions,
The directions,
The seasons,
The times of day,
Earth,
Sky and spirit.
So be it.
