So now it's time for another guided meditation.

And just as with every guided meditation,

For your safety,

Please do not listen to this recording while driving or operating machinery.

You can choose to use headphones or not,

Whatever you prefer.

And just as before,

What you want to do is allow any sounds around you,

Any sounds within this recording,

To become a part of this meditation.

You're going to allow everything to come in.

Now,

To start,

Go ahead and find a comfortable position.

You can sit up comfortably and allow yourself to begin to relax.

And as you allow your body to adjust until you can become more and more relaxed,

Now you can begin to simply notice your breathing.

And what I'd like you to do is to take a deep,

Slow breath in through your nose and release it out through your mouth slowly.

And you want to do this three times.

Simply noticing the rising and falling of your chest,

The feeling of the air coming in your nostrils.

And as you do this,

You can feel your body becoming more and more relaxed with each breath.

Now,

Simply notice any feelings or sensations in your body.

What do you notice?

Maybe it's the feeling of your back against your chair or pillow.

Maybe it's the temperature of the room.

Perhaps it's a specific muscle group.

Whatever you notice,

Simply leave it as it is now.

There's no need to try and change anything.

And you can take a few moments just paying attention to your body,

Moving your awareness around.

Now just stay still,

Still and relaxed.

And as you do that,

You can simply allow yourself to just be.

Because meditation is not so much about doing as much as it is about being.

Which means the good news is that you already are.

So any thoughts that you're having right now are completely acceptable.

There's no need to empty your mind and become mentally silent in order for this meditation to be effective.

Just stay still and calm.

It's almost as if just by allowing your attention to stay here in the present moment,

You're able to begin to let go and allow things to unfold naturally.

Without any effort on your part.

And the interesting thing is the more that you can just let go and relax even more,

The more you're able to just notice anything that you're experiencing.

Without judgment,

Without analyzing.

Because even if you find yourself analyzing a thought or worrying about whether you're doing the meditation correctly or not,

You can simply notice that and allow that to be a part of your meditation as well.

Now some people say that they can't relax their mind completely.

They say that it's not easy to allow peace to enter your mind.

But I invite you to notice that even with a few simple breaths and a willingness to not try to change what you're experiencing,

That you can find that peace.

Peace of mind.

Relaxation of the body.

Quite easily.

And it's not even necessary for you to find that peace now because underneath our streams of thought,

Underneath the busyness and distractions of modern life,

Underneath our to-do lists,

Our expectations,

Our desires,

Our accomplishments,

Our disappointments,

Our fears,

Our worries,

Underneath everything you can feel peaceful.

You can feel tranquil because it's your natural state.

So now I want you to just notice any thoughts that you might be having.

You can simply observe them,

Whatever they are.

And what some people like to do is they like to imagine their thoughts as if they were leaves in a slow moving river.

And just as you would notice those leaves being carried by without any effort on your part,

You can also begin to notice your thoughts just allowing them to pass by like leaves in a river.

Because your thoughts are rising of their own accord and gently drifting by.

Just like those leaves in a slow moving river.

Some people like to pretend your thoughts are clouds in the sky.

And as you look up into the sky and notice those clouds moving slowly,

Slowly moving through the sky,

I invite you to notice how you would look at those clouds,

How you can just allow them to drift without trying to manipulate or change anything.

And so it is with your thoughts because you can watch your thoughts the same way that you simply watch those clouds effortlessly moving by.

And the wonderful part is that it is not even necessary for you to try and relax completely,

Deeply.

Because just by letting go,

You can find yourself becoming more and more peaceful,

More and more relaxed,

Spontaneously.

Just drifting like those leaves,

Like those clouds.

Just resting in that awareness for a while.

Staying still.

Breathing naturally.

Resting comfortably.

Just noticing your thoughts.

It's funny how time just seems to slow completely down.

Now I'm going to be quiet for about 30 seconds and allow you to just breathe and notice your thoughts.

Now it's time to open your eyes.

Still notice your breathing again.

And it's time for this meditation to end.

But as it ends,

You can carry this relaxation with you as you go about your day today.

And as you go about your day,

Remember from time to time to simply stop and observe your thoughts without trying to change them,

Without reacting to them.

And I also want to invite you to notice to remember that you can find this peace,

You can have this relaxation anytime that you're willing to just let go and let things be.

Even if it's just for a moment or a few minutes and you just allow yourself to breathe naturally.

So have a peaceful and mindful day today and I will see you next time.

Great gentle reminder, that I am NOT my thoughts, and can calmly relax IF I can recognize that, anytime. Thank You.

Love visualizing thoughts as leaves on a slow moving river and clouds in a spacious sky. I meditated longer than this meditation to fully be in this experience. Thank you!

This guy is terrific! So relaxed and natural sounding, like a knowledgeable friend is sitting across from you just talking. I like that he said just to become aware but not to try and change anything and that by acceptance the underlying piece actually can come up to the surface. Everybody should listen to this one at least once! I came to this one because I had just listened to another one by the same guy about the awakened body - liked him so much I went looking for more by him.
