Gayatri Mantra
by Kelsey Beine
This Sanskrit chant encourages transformation. By extracting internalized negativity and bringing it to the light of the sun, which symbolizes pure consciousness, we are changed from within. The mantra is repeated three times, followed by a short pause, and then repeated another nine times. There is no introduction or closing, so you are welcome to play this recording during a guided practice – of your own or that you are facilitating for others. Lyrics: Om bhurbhuvah svaha, Tat savitur varenyam, Bhargo devasya dhimahi, Dhiyo yo nah prachodayat (In each of the three planes of existence, we recall within ourselves and meditate upon that wondrous spirit of the Divine Solar Being; may he guide our inner vision.)
