Hello,
Let's give gratitude for our bodies.
So start out in whatever position you wanna be in,
Sitting,
Lying down,
Legs up the wall,
Eyes opened or closed,
Maybe kind of half open,
Staring at something and bring yourself here,
Arrive in your meditation with a big breath,
In and out.
Welcome,
Welcome back into your body.
Start out with our heads,
Where most of us spend majority of our time.
Let's give so much gratitude for that big old brain.
It does so much for us,
For all of the functions it provides for us and all of the thinking,
The funny thoughts,
The serious thoughts,
The memories,
All the thoughts.
And thank your brain too for the few times that it allows you to be quiet and still.
Let's bring that gratitude train down to your eyes.
And give so much gratitude for that big old brain.
Let's give so much gratitude for that big old brain.
Let's give so much gratitude for that big old brain.
And give so much gratitude for the ability to see.
And to your ears,
Feeling so much gratitude for the ability to hear and to balance and to your nose,
For the ability to smell and to sneeze,
And to your mouth and your teeth and your tongue and your lips,
For the ability to talk and taste and breathe and kiss and make funny faces and eat that too.
Let's bring that gratitude through our necks and into our shoulders.
These miraculous joints that allow these funny little sticks to move in so many directions.
They can go up,
Down,
Out to the side,
Across our bodies,
In circles.
They can even rotate internally and externally.
Sit in that wonder for a moment.
Okay,
Just give so much gratitude.
Let's travel down to our hands and our fingers.
Give so much gratitude for that dexterity,
For the ability to move each finger separately.
Maybe you can play piano or write or hold a utensil and to touch and feel.
You can feel the feeling of water against your skin,
Feeling your body,
Feeling your body,
Feeling of soft fur as you pet a puppy dog.
And for those fingerprints that are uniquely yours,
Wow.
Thank you.
Now bring that gratitude into your torso.
Giving so much gratitude for all of your muscles in your torso and beyond.
And to all of your muscles,
And to all of your bones in your torso and beyond.
Into your skin,
Of course,
Around your torso and beyond.
And then let's come inward and focus on those organs.
Thank you.
Heart and lungs and liver and spleen and kidneys and stomach and everything that's in there.
Thank you.
And perhaps with your gratitude comes a vow to honor these organs and honor these systems and give them what they need.
And while we're here,
Let's give gratitude for the emotions that flow through us and flow through our bodies and the intuition we feel in our guts,
Our sacral knowing,
Our sacral holy hell yeses.
And let's give some gratitude for knowing who we are.
And as we travel down the body,
Let's stop at the butt.
These big,
Powerful muscles that allow us to sit with a cushion comes with us everywhere.
It allows us to power up a mountain or down a street,
On a bike or on our own two feet.
Thank you glutes.
And bring that gratitude train down our legs,
Giving so much gratitude for any mobility we have,
The ability to stand,
To walk,
To run,
To skip,
To hike,
The miracle that are these knees that hinge back and forth and down to those ankles.
Those ankles allow us to draw circles with our feet,
To even write the alphabet with our feet.
And we skipped over the wrists and the elbows.
Thank you.
Give thanks for that hinging joint and then another joint that allows us to make circles.
Again,
What?
This body is crazy awesome.
Thank you.
And then into the feet where there are more than 20 bones.
Thank you feet.
You're complicated.
Thank you so much for holding it together.
Thank you for holding me up.
Gratitude for those toes that spread out and take space and keep you from falling over.
Those toes that allow you to push off when you're running.
Those toes that maybe you enjoy digging into the sand as the water comes up and laps your ankles.
Thank you body.
And now that we're down at the toes,
Let's fill this whole body up with light.
Not just any light.
Golden sparkly love light as our way of saying thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
And start at the toes and feel that light travel through your feet,
Up to your ankles,
Through your calves and shins,
To your knees,
Up your quads and hamstrings,
All the way to your hips.
Feel it travel up your whole torso to the tops of your shoulders and out your arms through your elbows and your wrists,
Through the palms of your hands to your fingertips.
And feel it travel up your neck,
Up your head to the very top of your head.
Filling yourself with sparkly golden love light.
Thank you body.
You are a miracle and I love you.
