It can be challenging to find that place of inner calm when life takes over and the pressures feel greater than we are able to metabolise. The power exists within you to shift from a state of overwhelm to calm. This guided embodiment meditation is designed to move you from your head to your heart where you can lead from within. We can run the day or be run by the day, and it is a simple as creating small amounts of timeshift in our own state that takes the power back.

Breathe,

Be well,

Activate the leader within.

Overwhelm.

It's so easy in this world that we're stepping out into,

With everything being switched back on to feel a sense of overwhelm.

Can be like everything that you put on hold or put on pause suddenly gets put on again.

Except now it's on overdrive.

It's like you're trying to catch up with all of the months that you've lost.

And why wouldn't you when everyone you look at is also in overdrive and in overwhelm.

And in this state of overwhelm it gets really really hard to take even the smallest step because it seems so insignificant for everything that you feel you have to do right now.

For everything that you feel has been waiting for months.

And so how can you shift from this place of overwhelm into a place of calm.

And so the invitation here is to move through,

Is to allow yourself to actually feel the overwhelm.

To drop right down into the center of it and experience it in your body.

Because my guess is most of that overwhelm is living and existing inside your head.

And it's being felt to a certain extent in the body but it's being pushed down,

Pushed aside,

Squished.

You're trying to push through it to get to somewhere else.

So what happens when you just allow yourself to be.

Just give yourself some space to sit in that feeling of overwhelm.

Give it some space.

Breathe.

Notice that you can be in that state of overwhelm feeling like everything needs to be done yesterday and you can still breathe.

Just begin to breathe a little deeper.

Feeling the breath,

Breathing in and out.

And just recognize where the overwhelm is sitting in your body.

Just allow yourself to feel it.

Notice if it has movement or if it's still.

If you just allow your body to move,

How does your body move in this state of overwhelm?

Can you drop right down to the center of this feeling and be with it?

Is there a message to be shared?

Why is your body pulling you into this state of overwhelm?

Could it potentially be trying to tell you something?

So without rushing for an answer,

Just breathe.

And just allow it to give you whatever gift it is here to give you.

Are you setting yourself unrealistic expectations?

Are you allowing unrealistic expectations to be placed on you by others?

And as you add more and more and more of those unrealistic expectations on to your plate,

How does that allow your system to function?

Or does it cause it to become dysfunctional?

Is overwhelm actually a gift?

A signal that your system is currently overloaded?

And so in that state of overwhelm,

By stopping you from moving,

By stopping you from making any decisions,

By stopping you from moving forwards or backwards or sideways or any way,

And just forcing you to be in one place and recognize enough.

What is the need underneath that is not being met right now?

With that space,

What can you offload?

If you were to only get one thing complete today,

What would that be?

Can you give yourself permission to offload your system so that you can reconnect to that calm space within?

As you're breathing now,

Just play with how it would feel to hand off and let go of anything that is not required now.

How would it feel to be discerning and to prioritize your state of calm and stability and a feeling of safety in your own body over the obligation to others,

Over unrealistic expectations of yourself?

Just for a moment,

What happens when just like a coat,

You take that off and just let it go?

Just play with it and breathe,

Coming back to that breath,

Slowly in and out.

How does it feel to live inside a calm container?

How does it feel not to overwhelm your system with too many demands at once?

What would it be like to focus in on one thing at a time,

To begin to create clear boundaries and to really get clarity around what your own capacity,

Your own bandwidth looks like?

Just make a commitment even for a week to yourself to stay within that,

To not look outside of you for what needs to be done or for the pace that needs to be kept and to instead use this intelligent internal system to assist you in navigating.

So that when you feel your body start to move into overdrive,

When you feel your head start to slow down and overwhelm,

When you feel yourself falling apart,

You can allow yourself to just be in that space and recognize it as a gift to reconnect to that internal world,

That internal intelligent navigation system and come back to that leader within.

So just begin to breathe in and out.

How does it feel to move through your life with ease and flow?

How does it feel to live in a place of discernment and give yourself space to breathe and move and play?

Just allowing your breath to flow in and out,

Not trying to be or go anywhere but here and now and just notice without any effort how your system begins to feel.

Understanding and accepting all of it and coming back to remember that intelligent internal system that is your own.

Begin to breathe in and out with a focus on your heart and just bring to mind one word or phrase that could carry you through this day with more ease,

More flow and as you breathe in and out just allow that word or phrase to continue to expand throughout your body and then tuning back in to your breath,

Back into the room that surrounds you and take that intention carrying it with you in your day pausing for moments to just check in,

Grading that state of overwhelm,

Grading your state of calm and allowing yourself to be the observer of your own internal system.

Seeing that you can move through anything that you allow yourself to feel.

Taking a deep breath in and out and taking a moment to honour yourself for creating this space in your day to breathe,

Be well and lead yourself first.

I loved Kelly’s natural, authentic voice. I appreciated the acknowledgment of the current state rather than trying to “let it go” and the questions and cues offered great introspection. I feel much more calm now. Thank you. 😊
