What is the difference between escapism and procrastination?
Although escapism and procrastination are different concepts,
They can be linked in certain contexts.
Escapism.
Escapism refers to escaping reality or distracting yourself from stressful situations.
People often seek means to escape stressful or unpleasant realities,
Whether through consuming entertainment media,
Immersing themselves in fantasy worlds,
Or retreating into social networks.
Escapism can be viewed as a short-term escape designed to provide temporary relief.
Procrastination.
Procrastination refers to constantly putting off tasks or responsibilities that need to be completed.
People who procrastinate tend to put off necessary actions and decisions,
Often due to dissatisfaction,
Fear of failure,
Or poor time management.
Unlike escapism,
Which represents an escape from reality,
Procrastination specifically refers to postponing tasks and responsibilities.
Although both concepts are different,
In some cases procrastination can be considered a form of escapism,
Especially when people put off tasks to avoid the difficulties or inconveniences associated with them.
It is important to note that both escapism and procrastination are normal to some extent,
But when they occur excessively or chronically,
They can have a negative impact on personal well-being and productivity.
So the question is,
Are you already facing the things that are necessary to face?
Are you already dealing with your challenges?
Do you already overcome yourself to reach your goal?
Or do you still distract yourself?
Do you still escape?
Do you still procrastinate?
Although an honest look on the personal behavior can be really hard sometimes,
It is worth it.
It is worth it to self-assess what is,
To realize what needs to be done,
To improve yourself.
So I'll be happy to hear from you what you did so far to overcome yourself,
To not procrastinate,
To deal with the challenges,
The problems,
The burdens.
What did you do?
Do you have a success story?
I'll be happy to hear from you.
Write it in the comments and maybe you can inspire others.
Happy to hear from you.
Take care and enjoy the journey.
