Optimism.

Optimism as a term comes from the Latin optimum,

Meaning the best.

It is an outlook on life in which the world or thing is viewed from the best side.

But what is the best for you?

Are you a minimalist or do you always want more?

I see optimism here as the middle ground between these extremes.

What is behind these extremes?

Minimalism states that you should have as few possessions as possible,

Live as clearly and freely as possible.

This principle will help many who are very identified with things.

But isn't it also healthy in a way to have a little bit more than the absolute necessary?

Wouldn't you enjoy the abundance of having several pairs of pants in your closet,

All of which you find beautiful,

But each of which would be suitable for different occasions?

What about the principle of maximalism?

Do you always want more?

Further,

Faster,

Higher?

This drive has also brought really positive things for people.

Inquiring minds,

Transcending habits and entrepreneurial spirit go hand in hand with these principles.

Power of advancement.

But what is the negative side of this coin?

You will see that it can result in competition,

Arrogance,

Disrespect and waste of resources.

And so for example the question is how free are you if you maximize possessions like this on the material level?

Excessive possessions will tie you down.

Your attention,

Time and effort.

Like a distribution curve,

You go from the extremes to the middle,

To your middle.

As Epicurus,

An ancient philosopher of Greece,

Used to say,

It is the same with the virtue of moderation.

Only those who keep the right measure and don't demand too much can find peace and serenity that lead to a happy life.

That means you don't have to hold your interests back,

But with the principle of moderation you will not be in the direction of too much or too little.

You arrive at your personal center,

Your optimum.

For example ask yourself the question,

Do you need more space?

What would you do with the increasing living space?

Would it be optimal or would it be more effort,

Money and unnecessary heating costs for a space you don't really need?

Think about it.

That's why it's important to arrive at your personal optimum.

So be and stay at your personal optimum.

How can you find out if something,

Be it a purchase like a car,

A house or other things in life,

Is optimal for you?

You will feel it.

If you pay close attention,

You will feel calm,

Serene and joyful when connecting with one option,

With the other rather lessless,

Hesitant,

Cautious,

With a gentle feeling of uneasiness.

This observation of yourself can be learned.

Your subconscious is quietly communicating with you.

But you can learn to train your attention,

So you will find the right,

The best solution for you in every moment and every situation.

So always look for the optimum.

Coffee or tea?

Turn left or right?

Vacation in Spain or Norway?

Call the boss or rather not?

Should I stay or should I go?

With a little practice you will always find your optimum.

As long as something creates friction,

It is not your optimum.

So be aware,

It may be changed further.

So don't you want to be an optimist,

A person who strives for the optimum himself?

There is nothing against it.

Your personal optimum is not oriented to the expectations of others.

It is oriented at your well-being.

This turns the perspective of many directly.

Many claim they cannot be optimistic.

Too many things cause a pessimistic world view.

If that is the case,

You have not yet learned to take your mood into your own hands,

To create a feeling of well-being from within yourself and from there you go out into the world.

From the spectrum of possibilities,

Also in the character of your own mood,

Your own activity,

Your charisma,

To choose the optimal one.

The optimum is your personal ideal.

But even if you experience something uncomfortable right now or you had a hard past.

Past performance doesn't predict future performance.

Just because it has been so far,

It doesn't have to stay that way.

So you can start right now to be optimistic.

To pursue your optimism.

Try it out.

Feel free to write in the comments how you feel about optimism.

Do you have examples in your life where you succeeded in being optimistic?

Where do you find it difficult?

Feel free to let me know in the comments.

I am happy to hear from you.

Take care and bye!
