This meditation is about ultimate surrender and it's inspired by the story of King Janak and Nastravakra.
Now King Janak was a very wise king but he wanted enlightenment so he sought all of the sages and saints within his kingdom and requested that he wants enlightenment by the time he climbs his horse.
Everybody in his kingdom turned him down.
Finally Nastravakra appeared and said it can be done but first you have to surrender.
You have to surrender everything and give me Guru Dakshina.
Guru Dakshina is what one offers to their master.
So the king offers Guru Dakshina.
Nastravakra said that's not enough.
Finally the king offers his kingdom and everyone in it.
Nastravakra said still that is not enough.
Finally the king offers his body and his life.
Nastravakra said that's fine.
The king climbs his horse and gets on and Nastravakra says it is finished.
The king looks at him.
What?
How can you say that?
I'm still the same.
He said oh king how can you be the same?
You've offered me everything.
Guru Dakshina,
Your kingdom,
Your mind and in that moment King Janak was changed and he got realization.
This meditation is based on this story.
Please sit comfortably and gently close your eyes.
The statements that I say repeat them internally from your heart.
These ears are not mine.
The sounds they hear are not mine.
That which knows the sounds is not me.
All of this belongs to the absolute,
To source,
To the divine.
And with that we completely surrender the sense of hearing and every possible sound.
These eyes are not mine.
The sights that they see,
Images that they see are not mine.
That which knows the sight is not me.
All of this belongs to the absolute,
To source,
To the divine.
We completely surrender the sense of sight in all of the images.
This body is not mine.
The sensations experienced are not mine.
The actions of this body are not mine.
That which knows these sensations are not mine.
We surrender the body and everything associated with the body.
This nose is not mine.
The smell and everything associated with this nose is not mine.
That which knows the smell isn't me.
All of this belongs to the absolute,
To source,
To the divine.
We completely surrender the sense of smell in all of the smells that come with it.
This tongue is not mine.
The words and the taste that come from my mouth are not mine.
That which knows taste and speaks is not me.
All of this belongs to the absolute,
To source,
To the divine.
We completely surrender the tongue and everything associated with it.
This brain is not mine.
The thoughts and memories are not mine.
That which knows thoughts and memories is not me.
All of this belongs to the absolute,
To source,
To the divine.
We completely surrender the brain in all of the thoughts and memories.
This heart is not mine.
These emotions that my heart feels is not mine.
That which knows these emotions is not me.
All of this belongs to the absolute,
To source,
To the divine.
We completely surrender our emotions,
Our heart,
Our feelings.
We surrender it all.
This consciousness is not mine.
And the contents of this consciousness are not mine.
That which knows the contents of this consciousness is not me.
All of this belongs to the absolute,
To source,
To the divine.
We completely surrender all the essence of consciousness.
There is nothing here to claim is mine.
We surrendered our eyes,
Our ears,
Our body,
Our nose,
Our tongue,
The brain,
The heart,
And consciousness.
I surrendered it all.
Now surrender anything that remains,
Any thoughts,
Desires,
Even the inability to surrender.
Surrender everything until there's absolutely nothing left to surrender.
Once everything is surrendered,
There's nothing more to do.
So just let go of everything.
Drop it.
Drop everything.
Let the sounds come as they may.
Let the thoughts come.
Let the desire for meditation drop.
Let the desire to drop everything to also drop.
Continue to practice this for as long as you can.
Or as short as you like.
Thank you.
And be well.
