Welcome to today's guided meditation.
So finding a comfortable seat,
I invite you to close your eyes and tune into your body,
Taking note of any sensations,
Any feelings,
Any areas of pressure,
Simply observing without attaching a story to them,
A narrative,
A belief,
Just listening,
Welcoming your body to this present moment.
I invite you to begin with a couple of deep breaths,
Breathing in through your nose and breathing out through your mouth,
Breathing in through your nose,
Breathing out through the mouth,
Letting this breath be an anchor to the present moment throughout this practice today and checking in with the rest of the body here.
So starting at the tip of the head,
Releasing any pressure,
Being with your face,
Letting go,
Moving down to your shoulders,
Releasing here,
Down to your chest and abdomen,
Letting go,
Your thighs and glutes,
Releasing them,
Your calves,
Letting go,
Your feet,
Release and let go.
So often do we find ourselves floating in the throes of life,
Our mind pulling us this way and that,
Feeling disconnected from the earth.
I invite you to bring your attention to your feet,
Visualizing roots growing out of your feet,
Entering into the ground,
Rooting themselves down deep beneath the soil,
Feeling into this natural connection of you and the earth.
And with this connection of groundedness,
I invite you to bring your attention upwards through the crown of your head.
Maybe you envision a bright white light emanating out above your crown.
The energy that is pouring out of the crown of your head is your ideas,
Your creativity,
Your compassion,
Your motivation,
Your purpose,
Your true essence,
Visualizing this white light,
Expanding upwards and out,
Sharing this white light with the world and seeing these two entities of groundedness and of expansion as equal.
The more we ground,
The more we expand.
We were brought into this lifetime to do both of these things and remembering to breathe,
Breathing energy down to your feet and breathing energy up to the crown of your head.
This duality lives within each of us and sitting here in this space,
Remembering that this is innately a part of your being,
Meaning who you are is meant to be grounded and is meant to be expansive.
It's not something you need to learn or seek out,
Merely remembering the power of this duality that dwells within you.
And taking two more deep breaths before we close this practice,
Breathing in through the nose and sighing it all out,
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Whenever you feel called to,
You can open your eyes and begin the rest of your day.
