SRS Session 32 | Allow Your Magnificent Self To Thrive
by David M Kay
In session 32 we understand that through allowing time to integrate all that we are learning, and repeating statements of higher truth, we can move beyond limits to our happiness, peace, prosperity, success and joy. This meditation includes an affirmation practice. The Spiritual Recalibration Series (SRS) is designed to help you expand your awareness into a new, more open, curious and expansive way of being in daily life. This impactful series comprises 33 sessions, each with a short topic (the recalibration) followed by guided meditation. Meditations include affirmations, visualizations, and brief periods of quiet, musical stillness.

Okay,
Welcome back to the Spiritual Recalibration Series.
Thank you for embarking on this series and opening yourself to a new way of being.
My name is David,
And this is Session 32,
Allow Your Magnificent Self to Shine.
Find a comfortable seat in a space where you can allow yourself 20 minutes or so,
Undistracted,
To focus just on you.
A quick reminder,
To get the most out of this series,
Please be sure you've listened to the Welcome Session,
Session Zero.
Here we go.
As we talk about your magnificence,
I love saying that because I've been saying it for the past couple of days,
As this topic has come up,
It can sound so ooey-gooey,
Right?
Your magnificence.
At least that's one of the thoughts that crosses my mind when I think about it.
And that's interesting in and of itself.
Have you thought about your own magnificence?
Do you feel like,
Yeah,
I'm magnificent?
I have magnificence.
Or do you feel like,
Eh,
I don't know.
Just that.
It's interesting.
A couple things came up around this.
It's like,
One idea is,
And I think we've spoken about this previously,
Is the happiness ceiling,
Where we can only allow ourselves to get so happy.
Before something happens to make us be in our comfort zone.
So we kind of have a comfort zone of happiness.
I've read about this in a couple different places.
One of them,
So there's the commitment in the conscious leadership,
There's commitment number eight,
I believe,
About your zone of genius.
This is something I was just speaking about the other day and thinking a lot about.
And then there's a book that I listened to by Gay Hendricks that's referenced there on Upper Limits or The Big Leap,
I think it was something there.
But in that,
I believe it was in that book or something else I was listening to by Gay Hendricks,
Where he talked about kind of this programming that happens.
It's like this subconscious,
This stuff that's now unconscious for us that we're not aware of.
So like the example was riding a tricycle,
Like you're three years old or four years old and you're just having the best day ever.
You're out there,
You're riding your tricycles,
Your mommy's nearby and everything is grand.
It's sunny,
It's the middle of summer and you are,
Well,
You're three years old.
So you're like,
By definition,
Completely in the moment and then you fall off your tricycle and you skin your knee or you hurt yourself and you start crying.
And suddenly the best day ever just turned into the absolute worst thing in the world.
And so what gets programmed in in that moment is whenever something gets really,
Really good,
Something bad is going to happen.
That's what I heard as the lesson of like a program of these things,
Of these things that we learn.
And there's like only like a thousand examples,
You know,
Of these various things that we learn along the way.
It's like,
Have you ever,
I was thinking about this also the other day.
Winning the lottery.
I don't know if you guys ever buy a lottery ticket or play the lottery,
But my wife does every now and then.
It was a few years ago,
I was like buying scratch off tickets just to play that little game there.
And so anyway,
I was talking about the lottery and thinking about the lottery.
And have you ever heard the idea that,
Or the,
I guess it's a real thing,
Like study that a certain,
A very high percentage of lottery winners after a small number of years end up in the same financial situation that they were before they won the lottery or like,
Yeah,
Or maybe even a little less.
That's interesting.
And I was so,
I was thinking about the lottery and I was like imagining winning it.
Like the lotto was like something like $39 million or something like that.
And I was thinking about that.
And I actually realized that I'm not prepared.
If I actually won that much money,
I'm not,
I'm not prepared for that,
To have that much or to have that.
It's like your system isn't prepared for a certain,
That's why we have like a comfort zone of happiness.
And this is,
So it's kind of like this upper limit theory.
So we have these,
These,
These upper limits that we're not aware of.
So that's just good to know because really,
And this is one of the things we're going to do here in just a minute.
You are unlimited.
There is no ceiling on your happiness,
Not really.
There is no ceiling on all that you can do and accomplish and be and express.
But we have kind of this,
You know,
Within our personality profile or kind of just our life experience,
Various kind of unconscious and subconscious things that are fear-based that kind of keep us in our comfort zone.
So one of the things I loved,
We've talked about this before,
So it's kind of two things,
Just like what to do,
Right?
One of them we're going to do here in just a second,
But the other one that I,
We talked about before is integration,
Allowing yourself time to integrate.
So I was reading in this chapter in on that eighth commitment about how they recommend to people whenever they experience an expansion of some kind or something goes really well,
Right?
Where you've kind of,
You've kind of surpassed one of these little limits and gotten really happy or really successful or something along those lines.
This is what I was taking away from it is they recommend to do,
Give your body a chance to integrate,
Do something mundane,
Do an automatic task,
You know,
Mow the lawn,
Rake the leaves,
Wash the dishes so that,
And we've talked about that before,
This idea of integration,
Giving yourself time and space to integrate the growth that we're experiencing.
Shavasana for any of you who,
You know,
Practice yoga,
That's the last pose,
The final pose in a yoga practice is Shavasana where you,
It's called corpse pose.
You lay there and you don't move and you let your body sink into the mat.
And that's not supposed to be like you sink into the mat because you're just completely exhausted from this rigorous yoga practice.
What that is,
Is time to integrate everything that you've done.
So we're going to include that in our affirmation practice that we're going to do here,
Which is the second thing that I,
There are a number of things,
But you know,
These two,
The idea of integrating,
Giving yourself time and space when you're,
You know,
Working past that limit,
Everything goes really well,
You experience that ecstatic happiness.
But the affirmation practice,
If we have kind of these unconscious things going through and like our subconscious things,
You know,
Providing those little ceilings,
What an affirmation is,
Is a statement of higher truth.
So it's kind of like we can,
With repetition,
Shift that habitual thinking so we can say a statement of higher truth.
So this affirmation we're going to do here is,
I know that my happiness and the full expression of my gifts and talents is unlimited.
So day by day,
With patience and grace,
And at the perfect pace,
I allow myself to thrive.
Want to try that one with me?
So let's get your feet flat on the ground,
Again,
If you're sitting in a chair,
Close down the eyes gently,
Check in with your posture,
Make sure you're sitting up nice and tall,
Gently.
If you need some support behind your lower back,
So that you can sit up tall and still be relaxed,
That's good.
You can place your hands on your thighs,
Palms up or palms down,
Your choice,
At the juncture of thighs,
Eyes and abdomen,
Or a little bit further forward,
If that's more comfortable for you.
Have your eyes soft,
Your eyelids closed gently,
Relax your face,
Allow your tongue to fall away from the roof of your mouth,
And begin to tune in to the words of this affirmation.
I know that my happiness and the full expression of my gifts and talents is unlimited.
So day by day,
With patience and grace,
And at the perfect pace,
I allow myself to thrive.
I allow myself to thrive.
I know that my happiness and the full expression of my gifts and talents is unlimited.
So day by day,
With patience and grace,
And at the perfect pace,
I allow myself to thrive.
I allow myself to thrive.
As you begin to memorize this statement,
Allow yourself to say it out loud to yourself.
I know that my happiness and the full expression of my gifts and talents is unlimited.
So day by day,
With patience and grace,
And at the perfect pace,
I allow myself to thrive.
I allow myself to thrive.
I know that my happiness and the full expression of my gifts and talents is unlimited.
So day by day,
With patience and grace,
And at the perfect pace,
I allow myself to thrive.
I allow myself to thrive.
Tuning into the feeling behind the words,
I know that my happiness and the full expression of my gifts and talents is unlimited.
So day by day,
With patience and grace,
And at the perfect pace,
I allow myself to thrive.
I allow myself to thrive.
Now,
If you're saying it out loud,
Just in a whisper,
Just in a whisper,
Sending into the subconscious,
I know that my happiness and the full expression of my gifts and talents is unlimited.
So day by day,
With patience and grace,
And at the perfect pace,
I allow myself to thrive.
I allow myself to thrive.
And just two more times,
If you're saying out loud,
Just in your mind now,
I know that my happiness and the full expression of my gifts and talents is unlimited.
So day by day,
With patience and grace,
And at the perfect pace,
I allow myself to thrive.
I allow myself to thrive.
I know that my happiness and the full expression of my gifts and talents is unlimited.
So day by day,
With patience and grace,
And at the perfect pace,
I allow myself to thrive.
I allow myself to thrive.
Good.
Letting the words of the affirmation go.
Staying with the feeling behind them for just a few moments.
Letting the affirmation go.
Tuning into your breath now for just a minute or two.
Seeing if you can find that space in your nostrils where you can feel the air passing.
Just letting yourself focus.
Noticing your thinking coming back to your breath.
Good.
Allowing everything to be slow.
Continuing to watch the breath for just another few moments.
Now take an intentional inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Don't have to watch the breath.
Just allow yourself to simply be here for another few moments.
With whatever peace,
Whatever ease,
You have work to cultivate simply by making yourself available to this session.
Good.
Take an intentional inhale through your nose and then exhale through your mouth.
Prepare to come back to the space where you are.
And when you're ready,
You can flutter open your eyes or you can stay like this for as long as you like.
