Tuning into your senses.
Anchoring presence through your sensory awareness.
Close your eyes if you'd like and begin by noticing your breath.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Arriving here in this moment.
Now,
Bring your awareness to sound.
What do you hear?
Do you hear things that are near or far?
Soft or loud?
Just allow those sounds without naming,
Without judging.
Now shift your awareness to your skin and to your fingertips.
What sensations can you feel right now?
The temperature of the air.
Maybe there's a breeze.
The contact of your clothing.
Can you turn your hands to feel the bed or the ground supporting you below?
Now bring your attention to smell.
What subtle scents are present?
Perhaps the air is neutral or perhaps there is something faint you can notice.
Again,
Can you tell if the scents are near or far?
Just noticing.
No need to name or to judge.
Now taste.
Notice the sensations in your mouth.
Perhaps lingering flavors or just the freshness of your breath.
And now open the inner gaze towards sight.
Even with your eyes closed,
Sense the play of light and darkness behind your eyelids.
If your eyes are open,
Take in the colors,
Shapes,
Textures around you.
Again,
No need to judge or name.
Just notice.
One by one,
You've touched into each sense.
Hearing,
Touch,
Smell,
Taste,
And sight.
Take a breath and allow them all to weave together into this tapestry of experience.
This is presence.
This is aliveness.
Rest in the fullness of being aware.
