🎶Music🎶 I invite you to take a deep breath into your heart space.
🎶Music🎶 And as you slowly let it out,
Begin softening the gaze or closing the eyelids.
🎶Music🎶 Relaxing the shoulders,
Softening the jaw,
Unclenching the belly.
🎶Music🎶 And leaving more fully here in this moment.
🎶Music🎶 And for the next few minutes,
I want you to just take inventory of the body.
Notice what's here.
Notice what energies,
Sensations,
Emotions,
Feelings are here.
🎶Music🎶 Noticing your hands.
Noticing your feet.
Noticing the position of your spine.
The seat beneath you.
🎶Music🎶 Where are you keeping tightness or contraction?
And with your next few breaths,
Send spaciousness and expansiveness allowance into these areas.
🎶Music🎶 And just for right now,
Allowing these sensations to be here with acceptance.
Meeting these areas with love.
No resistance.
No judgment.
🎶Music🎶 Right now there is nothing to figure out.
Nothing to solve.
Nothing to plan.
🎶Music🎶 Beginning to feel distance between you and the voice in your head.
Taking the position of the observer.
Of the witness.
Notice what happens when you observe your thoughts.
Do they briefly pause?
Even for just a moment?
Do they become less dense?
This brief gap in the stream of thought is all we need to grow our connection with our true self.
And as you're laying or sitting here in meditation,
Ask yourself,
Who hears these words?
Who is listening?
Who hears when I hear?
Who sees when I see?
🎶Music🎶 As a reflection of the practice of meditation as a whole,
The practice of self-inquiry isn't results oriented.
There is no arrived at destination.
There is no tangible answer.
Because who we are cannot be understood by the mind,
But only by the body.
It cannot be described.
Only felt.
And through your meditation practice,
You will begin to more effortlessly differentiate from your mind and your true self.
It will become apparent what is intuition and what is emotion.
As we continue in our meditation practice and grow the capacity to hold gaps in our streams of thought,
We strengthen our connection to truth,
To life,
To all that is all.
And we put distance between us and the lower vibrations of the world.
Us and ego.
Such that happiness,
Joy,
And well-being are our new default settings.
And in this moment,
Briefly taking inventory once more and noticing what's different,
What shifted,
What changed from just a couple minutes ago.
Is there more lightness,
More spaciousness?
Is the mind to chatter just a little bit softer?
Notice what only a couple minutes of stillness will do for your body,
For your energy.
And know that every time you come into meditation,
You are creating tonic chemicals for the body.
You're balancing hormones,
Balancing cortisol,
Balancing biochemistry,
Slowing down the aging process.
You're giving yourself a great gift every time you remember the truth.
And remember that this space is constantly here for you.
There was nothing that you obtained externally to move into this more peaceful,
More still energy.
This was already within you.
You just allowed it to come through.
