A simple mantra meditation to allow you to switch off. Come and sit by the waters edge, allow these words wash over the shore as your mind gently slows down. This meditation is to allow the anxious mind to slow down to a calmer state of being. Go gentle, Karen.

Begin by sitting comfortably,

Whether that is in a chair,

On a cushion,

On the floor,

Whatever is right for you.

When you are ready,

Gently close down the eyes and start to think about your breath.

As you start to focus on your breath,

You are able to slow the breathing down and relax into your own rhythm.

As the breath naturally deepens and softens with mindfulness,

The nervous system rebalances,

The heart rate drops,

The blood pressure lowers,

And the whole body and mind calm.

As we sit here,

Taking the breath nice and slow,

We are going to add the mantra,

I am peace as you breathe in and I am calm as you breathe out.

I am peace,

I am peace,

I am calm.

Think of the words like gentle waves going in and going out.

I am peace as the wave gently goes one way over the warm sand and I am calm as the breath and the waves slowly goes the other.

And if thoughts come,

Allow them to come and gently go like the waves simply coming and going.

I am peace,

I am calm.

Whilst you silently repeat this mantra in your mind,

Think about how you want to carry this feeling of calm and peace into your day.

Allow yourself to be bathed in that feeling.

Soak up the warmth of the words resonating in your mind and body.

I am peace,

I am calm.

Slowly bring your attention back to your body,

To the present moment.

Return your breath to your own natural rhythm and gently let the mantra go,

Allowing it to effortlessly slide away.

After a few moments,

When you are ready,

Slowly open your eyes and embrace the peace and calm that surround you.
