Make yourself comfortable and allow your eyes to close.

And as you lie there just listening to the sound of my voice,

Letting all the muscles in your body relax,

Become really aware of just how powerful your mind really is.

And wondering if you can use your mind to show your body what to do.

Just say to yourself quietly in your head,

Really meaning it,

My left arm is getting heavier and heavier.

And then notice how your arm starts to feel heavier and heavier as it follows the thought.

Now try with your right arm and say my right arm is getting heavier and heavier.

And notice that that arm is now getting heavier and heavier.

More and more comfortable.

Now try with your right leg getting heavier and heavier.

That's brilliant.

And now your left leg is getting heavier and heavier.

You can continue to do this with each breath you take and each word I'm saying.

Feeling more and more comfortable and more and more relaxed.

Feeling even more comfortable than before.

And in this comfortable dreamy relaxed state,

I want you to talk to you about your mind.

The special part,

Your inner mind.

The part that controls all the things that your body does automatically,

Like breathing,

Without you having to tell it to.

Even when you're asleep you breathe easily and well.

And this inner mind is always looking out for you,

Wherever you are.

Sleep is good.

We all need sleep.

Just like air and water and food,

You need rest.

Sleeping by yourself is best for everyone and it's what you are designed to do.

As a baby you could fall asleep easily and effortlessly all by yourself.

It is what you naturally do well.

How nice is it to fall asleep instantly when you put your head down.

Your head is relaxing.

Sleep is coming to you.

Your eyes are heavy.

Your head is heavy on your pillow.

Your body is relaxing like a blob of jelly,

Allowing your comfy bed to hold you.

Your bed does the best job of holding you like a cuddle.

It feels safe and cosy and warm.

As a baby you could sleep anywhere.

In light,

In dark,

In noise,

Lying down,

Sitting up,

In someone's arms.

And even as I speak to you,

Your brilliant mind is remembering how perfectly you slept as a baby.

You came on to this planet able to sleep perfectly.

Sleep is a skill that you were born with and you are so easily getting back with practice.

I want you to imagine right now that you are simply looking down at your feet.

In your imagination you are turning your feet completely loose so they become floppy.

Just like rubber bands.

Let the comfy feelings spread right through your whole body.

Notice how comfy and dreamy you feel right now.

As the muscles in your feet relax and become heavy and let go.

You are letting your mind relax too.

You are drifting off to an easy feeling of deep relaxation.

Every muscle in your body is relaxing and letting go.

As the muscles in your body relax,

Your mind is relaxing too.

You are going deeper into a kind of slumber.

You are drifting and letting go.

Your muscles are relaxing perfectly.

You are beginning to breathe more deeply now.

Just the way you breathe when you are sleeping.

Across your shoulders your muscles are relaxing.

Any tightness or tension is draining off you.

And you are going deeper with every sound.

The sound of your own breathing is carrying you deeper and further into sleep.

Sleep is coming to you like a thick comfortable blanket.

Covering you.

Protecting you.

Taking you deeper,

Sounder,

Further into sleep.

All across your upper and lower back,

Every muscle is relaxing perfectly as sleep comes to you.

Stays with you right until morning.

All across your forehead your muscles are so relaxed.

Every muscle is so relaxed.

Right now you are drifting deeper,

Sounder,

Further into sleep.

Sleep is a skill you were born with and you are easily getting it back with practice.

The more you play this recording,

The more quickly sleep comes to you.

It stays with you.

As you go deeper,

You can feel that bed supporting you.

You can feel yourself sinking into it whilst you feel comforted and supported.

The pillow is supporting your head.

You are relaxing and sinking into the bed.

The covers are comforting you,

Keeping you safe.

You are drifting deeply into sleep.

Sleep is nature's restorer and you are sleeping wonderfully.

Deeply.

Soundly.

You dream the most wonderful healing dreams.

You love sleeping.

You wake up every morning feeling refreshed.

When you go to bed,

Sleep comes to you so quickly.

It stays with you right through the night.

You are able to enjoy at least 9 hours of deep,

Wonderful,

Restoring,

Relaxing,

Unbroken sleep.

And on the odd occasion where something might disturb you,

It doesn't matter.

Because the minute you close your eyes,

Sleep comes back to you.

It returns to you.

The most powerful part of you knows that the night time is for sleeping.

It's how we were designed.

As your inner mind locks onto these words and accepts them,

You find it easy to get into bed.

You look forward to getting into bed and relaxing each part of your body.

You are delighted in how amazing your mind and body are.

You notice how quickly sleep comes to you.

Long,

Long before my voice has trailed off and stopped speaking.

You are enjoying a deep sleep.

A proper night's sleep.

You are enjoying wonderful,

Healing dreams.

Your inner mind is accepting these suggestions and you are so aware that you have a perfect sleep pattern.

Every night you are motivated and able to sleep quickly.

Sleep comes to you quickly and you stay asleep.

You get into bed and sleep comes to you so quickly.

And you enjoy hours of unbroken sleep.

You wake up at the right time in the morning,

Feeling refreshed and full of energy.

You go to sleep each night certain that sleep will come to you.

And you wake every morning feeling the benefits of a wonderful night's sleep.

Knowing that you will feel that the next and every night because you have got back and reactivated in yourself perfect sleep patterns.

You accept you are able to sleep perfectly.

To sleep at night your body relaxes.

Your mind unwinds.

Your mind unwinds and your body relaxes.

You are responding perfectly to these direct mental commands.

You sleep perfectly.

You sleep wonderfully.

You just feel so wonderful.

You think and see and believe in your mind's ability to give you perfect sleep.

You believe in your ability to sleep.

And you know that the minute you get into bed,

Close your eyes and switch on this recording,

Sleep comes to you.

It stays with you.

Your ability to think these thoughts and hear these words is having such a healing effect on your ability to sleep.

Everything is in the right place at the right time.

You want to sleep.

Sleep stays with you through the night.

It comforts you.

It stays with you.

It refreshes you.

It carries you through till the morning.

And now as my voice tails away,

You are beginning to dream the most wonderful,

Healing dreams.

Sleep is staying with you.

And as I stop speaking,

You continue sleeping.

You sleep right through till the morning.

You sleep until you need to wake up in the morning.

You wake in the morning at the right time,

Feeling energized,

Feeling refreshed.

You sleep through the night feeling wonderful.

Feeling peaceful.

Feeling restored.

And you are doing that right now.
