Let's take a few minutes to turn down the volume on the external world around us.

Give yourself the gift of your total awareness for this little sliver of time.

You are a priority.

You deserve some time to slow down and get clear.

All change begins within.

We really can make a heaven out of hell or a hell out of heaven simply through the quality of our thoughts.

While we may not always have control over our current situation,

Our power lies in how we perceive the world around us.

Much of our suffering comes from our thoughts.

We believe those thoughts.

And that changes how we tell our story.

So let's begin by simply allowing our breath to just naturally slow down.

Begin to breathe out any stress from today,

Letting go of any to-do lists or any worries of the future.

Finding comfort and ease in our own little bubble as we rest in the peace,

Stillness,

And tranquility of the present moment.

Yesterday is over.

Tomorrow may never come the way we plan.

But right now,

We can savor the gift of the present moment.

Follow your breath as it moves deeper within.

Notice how it gathers everything that no longer serves you.

Then follow the breath back out again.

Gather all of the heaviness and then let it go.

Gather the low vibration emotions and set them free,

Inviting your mind and body to grow empty,

Empty,

Empty.

As you tune into the rhythm of your relaxed breath,

Inhaling peace,

Exhaling challenge.

Then let go of the effort of that breath.

As you welcome waves of inspiration and expiration,

Like the ebb and flow of the tide,

The breath flows in and the breath flows out without any effort at all.

When we desire change in our life,

We have to change our way of being in this world,

Our state of being.

But what creates our way of being in this world?

Our parents model behaviors.

We learn in school how to function in groups.

As we grow,

We see on television examples of how society says we should be.

We compile all of that information and create our personality at a very young age.

Our state of being is our personal reality.

It is made up of the way we think and feel.

But how many of our thoughts are our own and how many have been programmed into us?

Many of us get caught up in a loop.

We begin to feel the way we think and that causes us to think the way we feel.

That loop creates our state of being,

Our own personal reality.

We are all walking around in our own little world of our personal reality.

And my reality may be very different from your reality.

We think that everyone perceives things the way that we do,

But our personal history colors the way we view every situation in our life.

Quantum law states that your environment is an extension of your mind.

So if we don't like what we see around us and want to change our life,

We begin within our own mind.

Our thoughts are the language of our brain.

When we are interested in changing our personal reality,

We begin by uncovering our core beliefs.

Observing what tape is running under the surface in our subconscious mind.

Then we can become curious and begin to watch our thoughts as a means of self-study,

Self-exploration.

Bringing our attention to the quality of our thoughts is a powerful way to no longer feel powerless in the face of our monkey mind.

The mind is designed to think.

We will not attempt to stop the flow of thoughts.

Instead,

We become the observer.

As if these thoughts were outside of us,

Almost like watching a movie.

First we learn to rest in the space between the thoughts.

Then we take it a step farther as we create space between the thoughts and the emotions that are usually stirred up by the thoughts.

So now that we are resting and at ease,

Let's begin to observe our thoughts.

We can only change what we acknowledge.

So let's become curious without any judgment.

Allow a thought to rise up to your awareness.

Notice it.

Explore it with interest,

But do not attach any feeling to the thought.

We know the mind is designed to think,

But we do not have to believe every thought we have.

So no need to label the thought as good or bad.

Simply observe it.

Give the thought your full attention.

And as we practice watching our thoughts,

A pattern will emerge.

We will realize that the brain is a record of the past that causes us to think in a particular way.

For the next five minutes,

We will simply watch as a thought rises up.

Notice it,

Then allow it to float away as we move back to awareness of our breath falling in and out.

Rest in the stillness of the space between the thoughts.

Remind yourself I will not sleep.

I'm watching my thoughts rise and then letting them go with total awareness.

When we gain clarity on how we think,

We awaken to what lens we see our world through.

We have all heard the phrase rose-colored glasses,

But no one ever acknowledges the opposite effect is often at play.

It's called jade-colored glasses,

As in jaded,

Where we view every situation in a particularly negative way due to our life experiences.

Just as our thoughts are the language of our brain,

Feelings are the language of the body.

Each thought carries a positive or negative charge that informs our body how to feel by releasing different chemical cocktails from the mind into the body.

Good thoughts cause the brain to release positive hormones that make us feel nice.

Bad thoughts cause the brain to release negative hormones that make us feel lousy,

And there's an entire range in between.

If we want to discover what we think about something,

We can tune into how the thought makes us feel,

Allowing the line of communication between the mind and body to be open so they can work together.

So now,

Let's explore the body to become aware of any old emotions that are stuck in the tissues of your body.

Our biography becomes our biology.

If we don't take time to release the old emotions from our body,

We can use our breath as a cleansing tool.

At each part of the body mentioned,

We will inhale to gather and exhale to let go.

Tuning first into your head,

Notice sensations in your head.

Notice sensations on your head.

Is there any old anger stored here?

Emotions around our inadequacy or need for validation often get stored in the head.

Welcome peace back into your head,

Affirming I am enough.

Observe your neck now.

What sensations are in your neck and throat?

Stubbornness and inflexibility are stored here,

As well as our ability to communicate.

Welcoming resolution to all conflict,

Affirming I can put myself in others' shoes.

I see both sides and make decisions based on more than just my perception.

Sense your shoulders.

What sensations do you discover in your shoulders?

What emotions do you feel here?

This is where we bear the weight of responsibility,

The burdens we carry.

Consciously set down the burdens that aren't even yours to carry.

Set down all responsibilities so you have freedom to explore with ease.

Affirming I choose to hold up my responsibilities with joy and ease.

Tune into your right arm,

Noticing sensations there.

Become curious what sensations or emotions do you discover in your right arm?

The right arm stores the emotions around our ability to give.

What comes up for you around your ability to give?

Do you give too much or too little?

Remember to use the breath to release anything that no longer serves you.

Tune into your left arm,

Noticing sensations there.

What sensations or emotions do you discover in your left arm?

The left arm stores the emotions around our ability to receive,

To take in.

What comes up for you around your ability to receive?

Do you openly accept help from others?

Or do you insist on being the tower of strength,

Helping everyone else,

But never asking for help yourself?

Affirming I am worthy of support.

Now tune into sensations in your hips.

What sensations or emotions have you discovered hiding out here in your hips?

The hips are the basement of the body,

Where we store all the emotional junk we don't want to deal with.

But they also store our fear of moving forward in life.

Many times we find ourselves trapped in the past.

Begin to breathe out fear.

Breathe out old trauma,

Old stories.

Letting go of the fear of change.

Affirming change is exciting.

Change brings a whole new adventure into my life.

Check in with the sensations in your knees.

What emotions rise to the surface when you focus your attention on your knees?

The knees store ego and pride.

Our inability to bend,

To be flexible and open.

Breathe out ego.

Affirming to be open,

Flexible and willing to listen.

Finally,

Notice sensations in your feet.

What sensations do you discover in your feet?

And what emotions do you think are stored here?

Our feet are our stability,

Our sense of being grounded,

Connected and secure.

Breathe out fear as you welcome a sense of deep connection.

Feeling a firm foundation beneath your feet.

Affirming that support is always there for you.

If we continue to think the same old thoughts and feel the same old emotions,

We will continue to experience the same old reality.

So by choosing new thoughts,

We will make new choices.

And that will lead to new behaviors.

Leading us to new experiences.

Which will give us more new positive emotions.

And just like that,

We have created a whole new reality.

But if we are honest with ourselves,

We may uncover that we have become actually addicted to the stress hormones.

Even things we complain about.

We may be addicted to the rush of hormones that get released every time we tell that story.

So get really clear with yourself.

How do I benefit from staying stuck in my present reality?

In the way I tell my story?

Then acknowledge is your fear of change and the unknown more powerful than your desire to change right now.

Never allow the fear of the unknown to stop you in your tracks.

What if you really can change your whole life by simply changing your thoughts?

Isn't it worth exploring and learning more about the power of your mind?

This meditation is a great cleansing tool for the mind and body.

It can become a new healthy habit to create the change you desire in your life.

You can use this meditation morning and night.

Make a commitment to yourself to stick with this.

You deserve the gift of your total awareness.

Time to reflect,

Recharge,

And get clear.

For the next 30 days,

Use this meditation to affect change in your life.

In deep respect and love.
